Part of me hopes the allegations (if there are any) are true and part hopes they are not. We do not need another black eye for a high profile college team. Ala USC.
Honestly I support it and would love to see anohter huge black eye for a high profile college team. Maybe then the public out cry will be enough for the NCAA to start enforcing the rules and cracking down hard on some of the very blantant cheating going on.

The NFL needs to partner with the NCAA and enforce punishment

be it for example:
* making player inelegible for draft for x amt of years
* automatically reducing his salary in a significant manner

Boise falls to Nevada

Wonder how much blowback this is gonna bring to TCU as well?

I turned the game off at halftime and went to bed because I was gassed and it looked like it was heading toward another blowout. Can't believe I missed it. Nice goodbye (for now) kiss from Nevada and the WAC.

This is huge for TCU because now that close win over SDSU doesn't look as bad by comparison. Go Frogs.

I disagree, I think it once again makes them both seem overrated

Maybe, but Ohio State had a narrow win over a bad Illinois team; Oregon got lucky against Cal (who got destroyed, you might remember, by Nevada); Auburn squeaked past mediocre UK and Clemson teams; LSU needed incredible luck to beat half a mediocre UNC team and a terrible Tennessee team; Wisconsin had an ugly win against San Jose State and was lucky to beat Arizona State (because of a blocked extra point). And I could go on and on...

The bottom line is that while TCU's (and Boise's) schedule wasn't that strong overall, every team's resume is flawed. A close win over a decent MWC team like SDSU, in my mind, is just as good (or better) than a close win over a really bad BCS conference team. Throw in the fact that TCU will be unbeaten against a schedule that really wasn't that much easier than a team like Ohio State, and the argument for TCU being ranked ahead of them is pretty strong.

I suppose the Ohio State president is smiling somewhere this morning

If Oregon and Auburn win out, I hope TCU ends up playing Ohio State in a BCS bowl. That would be a fun experiment.

I agree that it makes them (TCU and Boise St) look overrated. I'm not saying that they are or aren't, as I think any team can have a bad day, but I can see how it can help the people who've been against BSU or TCU playing for the national championship to say they don't deserve a chance.

Clean old fashioned hate... heading between the hedges later this afternoon
Nothing like taking the Bees out behind the wood shed for a butt whippin' to redeem a season

Oh shudup! Yes, the Dogs will beat our ass today...keep rubbing it in! (granted, I'd be doing the same thing if I thought we had any sort of chance) It'd be nice to keep UGA from being bowl eligible, but unless AJ Green breaks his leg between now and kickoff, I don't see it being close.

We've got our "Holy War" annual rivalry game with BYU today too. But for some reason, I just can't get excited about this one. I've lost interest in hating BYU, it feels like any other conference game this year.

I can understand your frustration evilgEEk
This will likely rob you of your shot at the BCS

evilgEEK, you can still pray for South Carolina to knock out Auburn in the SEC Championship game. It's a long shot, but stranger things have happened!

Poor evilgEEk - he sure is being teased by first half leads today. Maybe Arizona can hold on to this one.

Oh, but hold on just a minute! Sounds like we've been counting our chickens before they've hatched!

Seems unfortunate to me that Nevada's big win is being overshadowed by what people perceive Boise to have lost out on in the process. Those guys and that school deserve their party, this was a huge win for their program.

This, x10. I was out of gas last night so I thought nothing of going to bed at halftime - I'm sorry now I didn't stay up to watch the rest, it looks like one of the most exciting games ever played. :(

I never really thought that win looked bad for TCU. The Aztecs are on their way back after many down years, and they actually have a pretty decent team this year. Sure, the Frogs could have played better, but in the end they beat a better-than-average team that day.

Losing on the road to a 11-1 Nevada team (whose only loss was to a decent Hawaii team) makes you look overrated?

I don't know about that - Boise is still a very good team, very dangerous, and would still beat most teams on a given day. Nevada should never have been overlooked either by them, or by any of us as fans of the game - they're where they are because they earned it.

Same here. I thought the BSU rout was getting started, so I went to bed. Then I turn on Gameday this morning, and they are talking about Nevada winning. DOH!

We have our rivalry game tonight, the Egg Bowl. I'm very nervous about this one, since the situations are reversed from last year. Last year, we were 4-7, not going to a bowl, and big underdawgs and ended up winning 41-27. This year, they are 4-7 and we are 7-4 and headed to a bowl. It's also at Oxford, and the home team has won 9 out of the last 10 in this series.

I really want this sucker to stay in Starkville, where it belongs (you can see why it's called the Egg Bowl):

I think I woke up much of the hotel with screams of, "He missed it! Holy ****, he missed it!"

Talk about a kicker's worst nightmare.

I agree completely, but in terms of the media (namely ESPN) TCU was dismissed after the SDSU game.

Many are always looking for a reason to dismiss Utah, Boise, TCU, et. al. and when something like this happens, they will use it. Is it fair? Probably not, but it is the way things go in the court of public opinion. Nevada may be 11-1, but in the end, they are Nevada. Fair or not, those teams with weak(er) schedules have to be perfect and convincing, or they will always be discounted. I think Boise, TCU and a few others can play and hang with the big boys on occasion. Whether they could run the gauntlet of a true SEC, Big 12 or Pac 10 schedule is something we won't know until they actually play that kind of schedule.

Dang. Just woke up and was reading about the Boise loss. Damn you tide.......lol

Well looks like it will be auburn and that ugly team who dresses in green and yellow

Will be pulling for the sec if this stays true. Damn you tide!

I fully expect Alburn to have to forfit all their wins this season. Cam Newton record speaks volumes. He cheated at flordia. It is no question that money was ask for at mississippi (which makes him ineligible) so alburn is going to eat it in the end. I just hope the NCAA comes down very hard on them. The cheaters need a true punishment not a slap on the wrist.

Like I said before, I hope it isn't true. But it if it. I really like the punishment that was dealt to USC. Maybe that one can stand as the norm instead of the exception and they really hit teams/schools who cheat hard and in the pocket book!

I, too, think Auburn will be vacating this entire season, but I doubt anything will come down before it's too late.
