I, too, think Auburn will be vacating this entire season, but I doubt anything will come down before it's too late.

I don't think there is any question about either of your two points in my mind
It isn't a question of guilt, it is who, what, when, where and how that needs to be sorted out

I think there is enough to show that Auburn thumbed their nose in this situation
Just a shame that the Newton clan will escape it all and count their money while others burn in the flames

GAWD why couldn't bama have pulled it out!!!!???

and about boise losing.... meh it really just shows how OVErrated these weak schedule teams are. going by schedule, it should be Oregon, Auburn and Wisconsin fighting for the BCS championship

and since auburn are cheaters, it should be wisconsin.

anybody else puke in their mouth when the auburn coach was basically saying god wanted them to win?

what d-bag

The NCAA rules itself are a joke. Who cares if these kids get agents, the NCAA is exploiting them to begin with so let the kids make some money off of it. How many billions does the NCAA rake in and then say it wants a pure sport? The majority of these star athletes are not going for the education. They want their meal ticket to the NFL. So either force them to put school first or live with the fact that the NCAA and the star athletes are both using each other to make money.

I have always found it amusing when teams and players thank/use religion in their win as if somehow the other team was deemed unworthy by the religion

The main reason is because as soon as players start making money it becomes professional sports, but youre right the schools should not be allowed to exploit tge players for money, that needs to change

It might as well be professional for the amount of money it pulls in. ESPN talks about it all week maybe more than they talk about the NFL.

Hell, game times are TBD until about a week prior because they want the TV timeslot that will bring in the most money.

There is nothing pure about the NCAA, so let's not try to pretend there is.

The NCAA's only job should be to enforce the rules of the game and keep the players safe. When they started to bid the TV rights in the billions they ruined the integrity of the sport so they should not have a right to tell the athletes that they can't get a piece of the pie. If it wasn't for the star athletes nobody would watch. The NCAA is after the most money first, the welfare of the players second. Just to prove the point they won't admit that the BCS is a joke because it brings in huge money.

Just like the Bush situation here in Southern Cal. He was already in the pro's making his money before any of the punishment/rulings came down. By then it was too late to affect the person(s) involved at the time of the cheating.

What cheating did Bush do?

Cheating was brought up, the only thing the NCAA should be going after is on field cheating.

I disagree completely. There are other forms of cheating that gives teams as much as a leg up as on the field cheating.

Cheating in recruiting is cheating. Cheating on the field is cheating. Cheating by giving players improper benefits is cheating. Cheating by artificially making players pass class is cheating. Cheating is cheating

Have you ever seen the movie Blue Chips? Giving benefits to players to attend a school/while in school is the highest form of cheating in my opinion.

The problem with that is the NCAA is not punishing the people involved. Why go after Kiffin when he had nothing to do with it. Punish the coaches and the players that were responsible. If Pete Carroll can leave the mess behind what goes does it do.

They are not going after Kiffen. They went after USC as the institution. The fault is 100% USC as they had no control what is going on at the time.

USC is who hired Carrol, USC is who brought Bush to campus. It is USC and USC's fault alone and they are the ones punished.

Keep in mind that it is USC who is a member of the NCAA, not Carrol, not Bush and as a result, it is USC to be penalized for not keeping a clean house in accordance with NCAA rules

Yeah, that is pretty much the case. The key phrase here is "Lack of institutional control", meaning it was the school that let all that stuff happen. The problem, as duke pointed out, is USC is in the NCCA, not the individuals. They can't do anything to individuals. They can punish the institution in hopes that they learn their lesson.

But isn't the coach in charge of the program so doesn't that become him responsibly. If it is the school that is at fault why punish the players?

Who's turn is it to keep an eye on evilgEEk? I'm worried about him.

Either that or he's in jail for doing something bad to Kyle Brotzman.
