It's too bad, since I had a great idea for the Big 12. They could invite, I dunno, TCU and Houston, and rename it to the Southwest conference. Oh, wait... :)

I really don't understand this TCU to the Big East thing. Other than football, they don't bring much to the Big East. Even then, I don't know how much they bring. And there aren't any really compelling rivals.

Anyway, is evilgEEk harassing BSU kicker Kyle Brotzman? This is sad.

(Just kidding, EG! :))

I know when the big 8 invited in the Texas Schools Houston wanted to go with them but they were on probation at the time so were turned down. SMU had huge problems and left a lasting mess. Looking at the history I had no problem with SMU getting the death sentance and I honestly thing it should be handed out again to really clean things up. It would force schools to I don't know FOLLOW THE RULES. It would also force others to make sure everyone else is staying clean. Dirty schools get kick out of conferences and force to go it alone.

*They are undefeated...[undefeated regular season two years in a row]. Every team ahead of them is also undefeated and everyone in their rear view has at least one loss, considering this is still Division-I football going undefeated should count for something. Respect will suffice. so what? they played nancy teams :p

*"Quality" wins [applying the term loosely] include Oregon State [then ranked #24], Utah [then ranked #5], Baylor [then undefeated and picked to upset TCU by 'experts' week 3], SDSU [only two losses each by 3 points or less when they faced TCU] uh no. I don't consider any of these wins higher quality than what the badgers did, n=and they scored over 70 points 3 times

*TCU leads the nation in many defensive categories and in the top 5 for offense. again, because they played nancy teams

*Secondary nugget on an unrelated note. Nevada beating Boise is not that far off the mark if you look at their historical trend. That same Nevada team beat Cal 52-31, which in turn nearly beat #1 Oregon and held them to their lowest point total of the season stretchingggggg

Are you related to the OSU prez by chance!? :p
Fair enough man, I get it...you think my team is soft and doesn't deserve anything...let's just see what happens in Rose Bowl...cool? ;)

I now hate TCU

Sorry. :(

That's not what happened at all. The Big 12 only exists because Texas politicians got in the way of Texas going to the Pac 10 and A&M going to the SEC. Texas Gov. Ann Richards (Baylor alum) and Lt. Gov. Bob Bullock (Baylor and Texas Tech alum) threatened to screw with the Permanent University Fund if A&M and Texas didn't A) stick together and B) bring Baylor and Tech along with them.

As for Houston, SMU, TCU, etc., they had no political clout, bad programs, few fans, small/crumbling stadiums, and small alumni/revenue bases. That's why they were left out.

The Big 12 was a marriage of convenience between a dying SWC (which became too regionalized when Arkansas split for the SEC) that only had one strong program in A&M (Texas was mired in a decade-long slump and SMU was fresh off the death penalty) and the Big 8, which had OU, NU and CU but no major TV markets (its biggest were Denver, KC, and St Louis; small-middle markets).

The problem, as Rodimus alluded to, was that the merger became unequal the minute it happened because Texas had all the power with the DFW, Houston, San Antonio, and Austin markets all being larger than anything up North. That's ultimately why Nebraska left, because they had less say and less revenue than the programs nearer the big markets.

^^makes sense, truth be told I respect the Badgers quite a bit; one of the only teams in the Big10 I dig. I like the old school smash mouth , run the ball down your throat approach.

I absolutely loathe the Spread.
Oh and Ohio State too....:)

I wasn't a huge fan of the spread until we hired Dan Mullen. In his first year, with essentially the same personnel, our offensive output went up by almost 100 yards/game. Anthony Dixon went from 869 rushing yards in 2008 to 1391 yards in 2009. And that was with a 5'9" walk-on QB who threw 10 more INTs than TDs.

Doesn't change the fact that ou sucks! :p

Very true. OU does suck.

Makes me think of a TTU vs OU basketball game I saw part of on TV. Clear as day you could hear the chat "OOOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU SUCKS" comes threw the TV. I though it was great. And yes OU lost that game but that is a side note.

TCU runs a lot of spread formations. Mostly does, I'd say.

Yup and it irritates the crap out of me...I prefer the good ole days of teams running the Power I, Wishbone, Flex, and Wing T. Not too fond of passing but I know it's how many teams [including TCU] make their bread and butter.

Hey guys just had a little announcement to make:

That is all.

Lol is someone bitter for not making the Big 12 title game?

Nah, we knew we had no chance to jump OU in the BCS because we beat a suck team last week (UTex) and lost to a good team in nonconference (Arkansas). Meanwhile, Stoopsie punted late in the fourth quarter instead of going for the win against MU because he knew the pollsters would punish him more if he gave up a garbage time TD.

Either way, it's quite nice to know that we beat both potential "champions" of the Big 12.

The Big East is SOOOO terrible. My WVU Mountaineers actually have a chance to go to a BCS Bowl with a win over Rutgers and a UCONN loss to USF.

Needless to say, I absolutely hate the fact this may happen, because we've lost to UCONN, Syracuse, and LSU this year, but regardless... I'll still be pulling for this scenario to play out in our favor.

To all SEC, Big 12, or basically any conference that isn't the ACC, fans. I'm sorry that this automatic bowl bid will go to a Big East team. Whether it be us, UCONN, or pitt, we all will get completely blown out (most likely by OU in the Fiesta Bowl, per predictions).

However, looks like we'll be losing our TERRIBLE coach this year, as the rumor has already spread everywhere that Bill Stewart is gone. And, I'm elated.

It's okay. You only have to wait another 18 months or so before a good team joins the league. I'm sure plenty of Big East proponents will be pimping the fact that there are two "Big East" teams in the BCS this year.

This. Again.

Oh look, OU just got stuffed on another 4th Down.

This is all kinda bittersweet. I grew up an OU fan in VA, 18 years being an OU fan (step-mom is a graduate of Undergrad and Graduate there, and still teaches there), 4 years of WVU, and the last two years of me being a WVU graduate.

I will say, I was more than happy to win the OU/WVU matchup a few years back while I was a video production intern for WVU, as well as at that game on the field.

Overall, there are only a few teams I really hate. UT, pitt, and VT. And, to a lesser extent; UM, OSU, OSU, USC, ECU, ND, LSU, and UF.

All I know is that TCU, if they keep up what they've done the last 2/3 seasons...will annihilate other Big East Football teams as they stand right now.

All I can hope for is Bob Huggins bringing us to another Final 4 or further.
