Peyton should really be MVP this year. I think his not playing and the record of the Colts makes it more decisive than any play by Brady or Rodgers

Might as well and let him go out with a bang. Because IMO the colts need to cut him before his bonus in March (he already got $25M while benched, another $28M coming in March) and use the money to recruit a younger uninjured quarterback.

Given the record they currently have they should be pretty good in the draft this year for a qb. They might want to use PM as a pawn to get another high draft pick. Just a thought.

$28M pawn. Might as well offer that money to the new QB. Plus who'd want to risk PM getting well, whoever is drafted would be benched in a heartbeat.

I feel ya now. One would assume they are going 0-16 and with that will get first pick.

at this point they only have to lose 2 more to lock up the first pick, unless the vikings or rams win one more, then colts only have to lose one more. with three division games left though, you can guarantee everyone will be trying to put a beating on them.

the real story for me, a lifelong OAKLAND RAIDER fan, is that coach callahan(sp?) didn't have enough sense to change audibles and play calling strategy... gruden knew every move we were going to make...

but yeah, manning is the colt MVP.

Gruden has so much passion that when he got pissed off, it looked as if this five foot nothing coach could go out and beat up everybody on the field. I think a part of it was people feared him and did whatever they could to please him. He didn't suffer fools.

As for Manning, it's hard to play missing out on a four time NFL MVP (which will likely never happen again).

Doubtful any team is gonna trade for Manning until after the Colts pay off that bonus. No team wants to (or can afford to) take that 25% hit to their cap space. Colts are SOL. Irsay's & Polian's stupidity has come back to bite them in their donkeys. I doubt they can assemble a quality team next year if they keep the #1 over pick. That'll be 2 players making nearly 35% of the team's salary cap. Add Freeney, Mathis, Wayne, Clark, Saturday and you're well over the 60% mark. A few stars and a bunch of practice squaders.... yeah, they'll be contending next year.

Exactly right....that bonus would be a hard sell for any team to take on even if he was healthy. But coming off 2 offseasons of neck surgery and absolutely no team is going to take that risk. They are screwed.

This may sound completely bitter, but I'm glad they're screwed on this. It would be horrible if they parlayed a Manning neck injury, a season of horrid coaching, and general bad management into Andrew Luck and a bunch of cap space. That would just be wrong on a million karmic levels.

And football is the one sport where I have no problems with players being as greedy as possible with their contracts, teams are ruthless when injuries occur.

he he. I loved gruden as our coach.

Gruden should be used as a special forces drill sgt. in his next career. :) I liked that he won, yes, but he seemed quite abusive at times.

Some may say he had a severe Napolean complex but I think he was just really, really passionate at the same time of not being good at knowing when he went too far with players and refs. I think you can be a good coach like Flores and not have to lose your temper every second.

Flores is my prolly my fave Raider coach... even over Madden. =)

Looks like the clock struck midnight for Tim Tebow. I guess God had better things to do today than help the Denver Broncos win a football game. To all the ESPN morons who picked Denver today: suck it. And especially suck it for even making the "Who Would You Take in the 4th Quarter, Brady or Tebow?" a legitimate question for discussion.

The rest of the country: New England just spared you another week of hearing how Tim Tebow can turn sweat into gatorade and heal the sick. You're welcome.

In other NFL news, the Packers lost, the Giants got smoked by the Redskins, and the Colts notched a victory. Welcome to bizarro world.

the playoff races for both the AFC and NFC are crazy. even with just two weeks left its hard to tell who will be left standing.

Word.

Jesus took the wheel and pointed it towards Tom Brady and the end zone. Amazing what happens when they actually play a team that is good. And doesn't have Marion Barber.

Hopefully now this madness will be over and we don't have to hear about this guy any more.

All we need now is a picture of Tom Brady Tebowing - because you know once they got into the locker room he totally did it.

have i mentioned how stupid the raiders are...?

under two minutes left on the lions side of the fifty, 3rd and 3... run the ball. even if you don't get it the clock keeps running and you punt them into a corner. but they throw the ball and drop the pass pass thus stopping the clock for them. ... the other blunders on that last drive are too numerous to mention.

Their blunders are the Broncos' gains. :D The Broncos still control their destiny - if we win our last 2 games we are in the playoffs.
