Thanks for posting. It would also be helpful to know the store.

I would also like to know if the decision to get a replacement was made by Apple on the day you went to the store or whether they made that decision later.

Can we also add what model users have to the template?

What shipping company?

I called the Genius Admin from my Apple store (UK), who I've actually started to get to know quite well during all of this, just to ask simply about the CC charge going through (it hasn't yet) and said it should take a week and assured me that everything is fine and there's been no changes to my CRU process and so far everything is smooth. It still looks like there's hope!

[EDIT: Gave apple cc details]

Date of appointment: Monday July 24th
Took credit card info: Thursday July 27th
Credit Card Charged (replacement shipped): TBD
Original model: 2012 2.3/16gb/256gb/650M
New model: 2.5/16gb/512gb (Year and gfx card TBD, but rep told me probably 2015 or maybe newer)

So even though they only took my cc info just now, they're still honoring the replacement that they promised me on Monday :]
Honestly, I'd be shocked if you got a 2015, seems like everyone is getting 2016 or 2017, myself included.

I could be wrong but if they said it's 2.5Ghz, doesn't that mean it'd be a 2015? I'm looking on everymac.com and I don't see any 15 inch models that had 2.5Ghz processors in 2016-17.

Yes. Surprised they specified processor speed. Still I wouldn't be surprised if you got a 2016 or 2017 with the 2.6, 2.7 or 2.8.

They told me the same thing as you. I'm guessing it's just how it's ordered in the system. We'll hopefully find out in a few days. From the posters getting their computers before us, seems like they're all 2016-2017 models.

Yes, I am one such case. I went into the Apple store on the 25th at 5:15p (California), had a work authorization for a CRU completed for me. The following day, I was called and notified that corporate denied the request for the CRU and that I will have to wait for the battery to come through like everyone else. They said they would notify me when the battery becomes available, likely first week of August.

I am disappointed to say the least, but I thought I would share to let you know not all are success stories.

Thanks, man. I appreciate the sentiment. I am still pretty damn jaded even though this should have zero impact on my life. It’s the tease that’s killing me. Apple blue balls are the worst!
