Still no further word on a potential iMac release tomorrow, be worried folks. I doubt we are getting one and won't be until 2013.

so, no further word on any of the rumored devices means that Apple potentially will not announce anything tomorrow, right? Bob my old friend, your reasoning lacks mightily.

It's likely they won't don't come here crying if they don't lower your expectations is all I'm saying

How is it likely? Please do tell. There weren't more rumors on any of the other devices either, so the point you made has no substance. I believe it's likelier than it ever had been before, which is not to say I would count on it 100%, but I'm expecting an update tomorrow.

Also, pretty sure you know that your post wouldn't keep anybody from coming to this forum complaining, if Apple does not refresh the iMac tomorrow. It's going to be a verbal s***storm in here, if that were the case : )

I must admit, I was expecting more to have leaked out by now...
It's a pain in the ass right now, rMBP, Air and Mini will all benefit quite substantially from Haswell and in the case of the rMBP, a partial redesign.
iMac and Cinema Display are overpriced for the tech they utilize.
I can't really work on an iPhone, iPad or iPad mini...

If the iMac, Mac Mini and rMBP 13" are indeed being announced the lack of leaks could have to do with different suppliers (with better security) building the units. It could also be due to more stringent security measures being employed by Apple:

http://appleinsider.com/articles/12/10/22/product-leaks-prompt-apple-ceo-tim-cook-take-security-to-new-levels

It's not as if Apple hasn't been able to keep secrets. There were plenty of rumors about the iPhone but no one really knew what it was or even what Apple was going to call it (Cisco had publicly announced that it owned the trademark for the name 'iphone' and much of the speculation on this site and elsewhere was what Apple could end up calling the phone). Apple had complete security in 2002 on the crazy-looking iMac G4, and when Time Magazine's Canadian website accidentally leaked a photo of it the morning of the announcement (it was allowed an early peek in exchange for it being on the cover of Time) people ended up arguing whether the photo was a fake. No one knew when the updated square Airport Extreme was going to come out, and no one had nailed down the specs or name for the iPad either. (At the time the main rumor was that Apple was going to call it the iSlate.)

Not sure if anyone else has pointed this out yet: if you go to store.apple.com and try to configure and order with anything other than the stock iMac -- even if you try ordering a stock iMac with a Magic Trackpad instead of the mouse -- the wait time has not change to "5-7 Days."

It. Has. Begun.

I don't think the IMAC or desktop update in general will do much for AAPL (stock). An event with new products and growth in a market is VERY good for AAPL. That doesn't mean they won't launch (possibly launch) the updated systems, it's just not going to do much for the investors.

Apple needs to grow grow grow or risk collapsing in on itself. I could see the new imacs and rMBP being an extension of the educational bit though, just not the focus. I don't know jack though...just my perception of it.

I keep thinking that the IMAC may be the opening act, rather than the main event or the chaser..... ... can start out with the non-drama stuff (in the eyes of the public and/or share holders) and work up to the bigger items....

The silence does seem a bit deafening, doesn't it?

What worries me more than lack of iMac rumors is that we DID get for-sure photos of every non-desktop product rumored for tomorrow. iPad Mini, iPad MaxLight, rMBP-13. But nothing on the Mac Mini or iMac other than a partial not-for-sure photo of the interior of... SOMETHING... could have been an ASUS AIO for all we really know... and six hundred days of disappointment.

Well, in less than 24 hours, one way or the other, we'll know. Here's hoping for a refresh.

Disagree. Look at what happened last month: the iPhone was introduced ... then the new Nano. Most important item first. I bet that will happen again tomorrow: iPad, the Tyrion Lannister edition, followed by updates to hardware and software and maybe even a new 13" Retina MBP.

With so many of the Mac faithful waiting so long for an iMac update, and Microsoft offering what by many accounts seems like a genuinely competitive OS, they almost have to drop new iMacs tomorrow.

If they don't, I'll take I as a sign that Apple really has moved on to the "post PC era". As I have not I'll take my long frustrated dollars elsewhere. For real this time.

My guess is though that we very likely will see an updated iMac, probably with a new form factor (SSD, no ODD, etc.).

It's clear they are deemphasizing desktops (and how), hence the low drumbeat. A new iMac will be far from the star attraction, but it will be there.

Doesn't seem like the iMac is coming tomorrow. There would have been way more information available at this point.

Don't expect anything besides the iPad Air and the new iTunes release.

We'll see, Huginnmuninn.....

And there wasn't a single leak, photo, or clue leading up to the redesign of the Mac Mini in 2010. Mind you, it was even a silent update without any keynote fanfare.

If (when) these are updated tomorrow my wife will be buying me one as a belated fathers/birthday present. Thing is, I am currently in England for the next 8 months and she (we) actually live in America.

If she logs onto the Apple Store >.CO.UK< and buys it will it all go through alright? I'd hate to have to pay customs on something bought from America, on an English Apple website, to be shipped from China to the UK.

When I buy her things on Amazon I make sure to log onto the .COM version (ergo prices in $) and everything works out fine. Works out cheaper for me too regarding exchange rate. Does this same principle work for the Apple Store? the only downside I can see is perhaps it'll cost her far more to buy in $ on a UK site, than me buying on the UK site with my own currency. It's all so very odd...

Suggestions/ideas?

p.s. SO EXCITED! Been waiting for this for... oh 3 years. Something's always come up on iMac release stretch, but not this year. oo-rah!!!

I agree, I'd say the odds are probably 2:1 in favor of there being no release. All we've really seen are some SKU's and some benchmarks. Everything else is speculation, even from the pro-sources.

I'd say there's still an "ok" chance of there being a release... but I'm not holding my breath.

And it's still a possibility it may not happen tomorrow, and people should not rule out the entire month of October. Please remember Apple is still holding a earnings call on the 25th and they have a record of releasing more products during the same week. The iMac may very well recieve a silent, low key update only on the website after tomorrow's event.

Winter is coming, they better had released the iMacs by then.

If you want odds and stuff you should ask Lynn and Bob, they're in the know.
Definitely, don't listen to this noob who signed up just months ago. I would strongly suggest everybody bring their expectations down. It's looking bleak at the moment and more and more like a 2013 release.

Now you got me, the "noob" routine took all the wind out of my sails. I declare defeat, well played Bobby.

Btw, unlike you, I don't make any claims either way, I just state what I hope for, while you're projecting your beliefs on an Internet forum. You don't know one thing more about iMacs than anybody else here and you don't even address that fact.

Unless I'm wrong and...

"Bobright's identity revealed - God types amongst us"

Edit: I just noticed, you actually made the claim that I'm getting people's hopes up in direct response to me saying "I don't know". You're brilliant matey : )
