If just bloody TC check this topic and see that there is more then 3000post from people who want to spend cash to buy iMac he would freeky upgrade it for sure.....

Roughly calculation:

3000 x 1900EUR = 5.700.000milion from people in this topic :)

That's some of the worst math I've seen in awhile. No offense but you began with a false premise/analogy.

3000 posts does not equal 3000 individual users as many posters post multiple (and I mean MANY) comments in a single thread.

Then there's also the fact that not EVERYONE who posted in this thread wants to buy an iMac. Then there are some who will buy an iMac... but just not right now.

Just calling it how I see it.

I am not sure anymore but didn't he meant this ironically?

Anyways, I think when 3000 customers will have bought a top-end iMac, his equation adds up, representing the top-end iMacs only though (and of course one point in time).

Facts. SKUs were leaked. Some information on spec leaked. Some information on benchmarking came out. A lot of inaccuracies also came out. But at this stage I believe there is a new iMac. So lets knock the EOL argument into touch. It's not End Of Line for the iMac.

There will be a new iMac. Period.

Would look SO bad if the only "real updated desktop" this year (during an event, which is what gets media attention) would be the Mac Mini.

Def, these facts point to an anouncement today. EOL? No way! Wouldn't they give up a growing AIO market? Even in the post-pc era, AIOs become more popular among consumers. Sorry, I have no source for that but I have read about that a few months ago.

But still!

They will have to announce it tbfh.

Only one store in Zip 10001 and 20001 have the highend 21", 7/20 stores are out of both the 27"s and have been for a week now. BTO machines have a 3 week shipping date. No 3rd party retailer has any macs except for amazon who are selling lion machines.

Usually you don't want to announce a product before you are ready so you dont cannibalize the product you offer already. Apple isn't offering the old 2012 imac anymore (or not much atleast), and since I don't by the "waste-of-time" argument that it has been EOL'd they HAVE to announce it.

If they cant produce many they might jut do it silently, but they have to announce it in order to stop the jumping ship people who are trying to buy an Apple iMac but who are having a harder and harder time getting one in their hands.

But I have to say.. I had a HUGE optimism surge last week when everything seemed happy and dandy. But the radiosilence... and now this from 9to5mac who are the only ones in the first place to "confirm" the new iMacs... its tragic.

Still, that doesn't mean they won't announce it, but that shipping may be delayed. So probably it's goin to be something like available by mid-November...at least for the 27 inch model. I'm confident ;)

Why are so many people blowing this 9to5 article out of ****ing proportion? READ THE ARTICLE.

First, the bad news: We’ve heard that the some of the iMacs that we found earlier have been pushed so far back that they might not warrant inclusion at the event this week. That doesn’t mean they are cancelled but because there have been some issues with the products and the including them is a “gameday decision”. We’re obviously hoping they make the docket.

SOME of the iMacs have been pushed back. We all knew there were production problems, this is 9to5mac simply confirming that not all of the iMac models may be released TONIGHT.

As noted above, at least some of the new iMacs we told you about previously might be seeing a bit of a delay, but it’s unclear what that means for their presence tomorrow. We know Apple has two refreshed models for the current 21-inch and 27-inch variants, but we have also heard at least some varieties of the new models will not be ready to ship directly after launch.

Some of them are seeing a little day. Which basically means all models will eventually be released.

Just chill out, they are coming!

It's ironic..but not far from truth, the math should be made on all users in the Imac section,i think we are more than 3.000.

If the availability is as low as you say i'd be shocked if it's not out today. Low stocks in itself is really squirrelly I think something will drop

This. Very much this.
I can expand on this with my hopes and thoughts, like anyone/everyone else in this thread. However I think the above logic is enough for me to be confident something is going to drop. Could just be a spec bump, could be the mooted teardrop iMac

on the yield issues. Someone explained it to me, being number of dead pixels which are tolerated, and in a 27" screen there is greater scope for more dead pixels which means the entire panel is rejected. It's not to do with glueing the damn thing (I don't think).

Dear old 42 predicted it was only 60:40 if iMac got airtime today. It would seem now this is probably more like 30:70. Some people probably thought it'd be 100:0. I thought it was 80:20.

I don't really care if it gets airtime today. A silent refresh will do me fine.

Me too. The dilemma I have (like a lot of people, I suspect) is that I'm in the market for a new iMac, but want to get the latest model I can - and what with the lack of update for a considerable amount of time as well as the persistent rumours, I don't want to be in a situation where I've just bought a 2011 model, then a month or two later, they release a new model. It's not like you change an iMac every year!

Late last night 9To5 tweeted that Amazon only had a handful of Mac Minis and iMacs in its vast inventory system. If Apple was not planning to update these machines today there would be sufficient inventory, but we are seeing this drought replicated around the world.

Right now if you try to configure ANY kind of non-stock 21" iMac in the Apple Store - even trying to switch from the free mouse to a free trackpad - the wait time jumps from Ready-To-Ship to 5-7 Days-To-Ship.

Face it: the new iMacs are just hours away. :)

I've waited since February for this iMac. I'm in it for the long haul. I can wait til' March if need be. :D

BUT... I would LIKE it to be released ASAP. heh heh

I'be been playing the waiting game since March... I'm not gonna give up now...

Please let me throw my windows pc through the window soon!

One friend who works in a catholic organization of schools in Spain has confirmed me that there are new iMacs incoming... I'm not sure because he's not an expert in Apple world but.............

Yes, very legit...

Sorry but wherefrom a catholic organization should know about new iMacs is not clear to me.

----------

Ok, Apple Store is down... :D

I explain to you: they have a program to provide computers for catholics school here, with discounts and financing hahahahaha I know it sounds weird but it's common in Spain

Ok then. I am optimistic and put that into the collection of 2012-iMac-conducive things. However, following what you told us, other resellers must also know about iMac by now.
