I explain to you: they have a program to provide computers for catholics school here, with discounts and financing hahahahaha I know it sounds weird but it's common in Spain

Sounds legit to me :D

Now Apple:

Ok then. I am optimistic and put that into the collection of 2012-iMac-conducive things. However, following what you told us, other resellers must also know about iMac by now.

That's for sure, but they can't tell anything of this, i think is kinda policy of reshellers with Apple or something like that.... they avoid to aswer question about refreshings with evasives but they don't deny anything by the other side...

It is the post PC era though, you forgot they have that gorgeous Retina MacBook Pro to showcase

Yes. Laptops are computers, and ever since Apple became successful with its Iphones and the Ipod series, it has been cherry picking the more profitable segments of the technology market, to the extent that it is able to accomplish that.

It does not seem quite the time to End of Life (EOL) the desktop, but that day seems to be coming closer and closer.. sorry to say that laptops are being designed in such a way that they can do nearly everything that a desktop can do and we can merely plug in an external monitor to the laptop, and viola... a laptop almost transforms into a desktop for a large number of peeps..

Of course there are a few users who want or need much more power and to be on the power edge of desktop computers... and yes, it seems that Apple is losing its ability to service those people and does not seem to recognize as much ability to profit in those high end user areas

Certainly, I have never characterized myself as a high end user; however, over the years, I have noticed that I can do more and more on portable devices that previously I could only accomplish on my computer... and even the quantity that one can accomplish on a low end computer is quite sophisticated... with less and less beach ball turning

This place could turn pretty ugly if no iMac's are released.

New iMacs will be released today... and if not I will #?/* Apple...

Just kidding. I think, most of us will behave adultly enough, leading an objective debate further on. :D

The new iMac will be introduced. The 27 may be shipped later. Id' say we might see a 3 week delay in shipping of the 27s. I hope not, but that's what I'm expecting...

I'm starting to wonder if the new iMacs ARE going to be retina. Surely, if they weren't, there'd be no way they'd have this many problems with the 27 (even with the new glass enclosure trouble that was reported a few months back).

My money is on a Special Retina version that won't be available until late November with the others ready to go.

1 x 21 - 1 x 24 - 1 x 27 - 1 x Retina @ 24.

Ha! there's no way I'm even close to the money here!

Creative thinking.... your prediction is possible.

I am confident that Apple will at least mention iMacs today. I can imagine that they will quickly mention iMacs and mini's when discussing educational part of the presentation - Cook/Schiller whoever's up there could just say "Available in November" or sth like that.

That's my take on things, of course there is possibility that this all might be skewed towards iBooks 3.0/iTunes 11 + new iPads in educational environment with "soft" launches right after the event, just like in the past.

I'm 80 percent positive on mini's, 70 percent on iMacs. Pretty sure they will spend a lot of time discussing new possibilites with new software, especially in universities and schools. New iPad mini will be tool to new possibilites.

Public events are usually addressing an issue, problem or introducing new markets more than focusing on hardware. They haven't done that for a long time, I remember Apple talking deep about hardware when they introduced Intel Mac Pro's. Since then, it was usually just few minutes spent on quick spec sheets and saying they doubled/tripled/whatever performance in some area.

SOME of the iMacs have been pushed back. We all knew there were production problems, this is 9to5mac simply confirming that not all of the iMac models may be released TONIGHT.

Yes. It is getting rarer for Apple keynotes to include the phrase "shipping today".

I wouldn't be surprised to hear "27" iMacs shipping in November".

I'm 64.27% certain there will be no new iMacs today.

But then, that leaves a meaty 35.73% chance that there will be new iMacs today.

I don't care if it is a spec bump silent update or a whole new design as long as it's done today (or we're at least given a date of when they will be available).

I'd luv to see a pretentious and intelligence-insulting video on the Apple website with Jony Ive saying something like 'If you bothered to think about it, iMac is the thing that you use most in your life', accompanied by shots of manufacturing techniques and Coldplay music. Then, the music would change to a different (but similar) tune, then cut to another Apple designer who talks about the revolutionary new iMac remote control - THE standout feature on the 2012 iMac. 4% thinner, 2% faster.

Weeee wantttt weeee want iMacs! iMacs! Weeeee want Weeee Want iMacs! iMacs!! (music) hahahahahahahhaa:p

store.apple.com / whatever is down everywhere. Please don't post to tell us your country is closed too. It's closed everywhere.

*Shakes out with excitement*

There is gonna be alot of fresh pie on the stores soon. I'm sure there will be a 21.5" with my name on it.

Someone earlier mentioned the event will be broadcast live on the Apple TV. Can anyone confirm this and how/where to view it? Been waiting since the beginning of the year so will be mighty pissed if we get another let down. I want to leave windows, please don't force me to stay Mr Cook.

That's some of the worst math I've seen in awhile. No offense but you began with a false premise/analogy.

3000 posts does not equal 3000 individual users as many posters post multiple (and I mean MANY) comments in a single thread.

Then there's also the fact that not EVERYONE who posted in this thread wants to buy an iMac. Then there are some who will buy an iMac... but just not right now.

Just calling it how I see it.
I understand it is wrong Math :) but it was ironicly said with comment roughly calculation....Because if you check other topics you will not find more then 3000post in it..... :) i hope now it is more clear :) AAAAAAAAAAAAA GIVE iMaaaaaaac!!!!!

I am not sure anymore but didn't he meant this ironically?

Anyways, I think when 3000 customers will have bought a top-end iMac, his equation adds up, representing the top-end iMacs only though (and of course one point in time).
Thank you!
Even if situation is....To be or not to be that is the question!!!! you got my msg correctly....

It's ironic..but not far from truth, the math should be made on all users in the Imac section,i think we are more than 3.000.

As above correct :)
