2012 iMac - next big date?

If it's not out by the beginning of October, I'm giving up and getting a specced out rMBP. I know they're not strictly alternatives, but I could really go either the laptop or desktop route at this point. I'm going for the best performance and the rMBP carries that title at this point. It would be an exceptionally dumb decision to get an old iMac now, even if they aren't released until 2013.

2nd - More probable

9th - Even more probable

16th - If it didn't come out yet, it'll be this day

23rd - 2013 is looking like the release date

30th - We'll see it in 2013. I may buy an alternative product

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG GUYS :D

AMAZING news. All of apples stores online are restocked (a few are saying will be ready on 27th)

AND

Amazon has restocked 2 of the iMac models. One of them doesnt even give the "only 10 left" counter anymore. GG WP Apple... You really took a massive dump on my face, one more :)!
 
There was a line from Tim Cook during the iPhone announcement along the lines of "we are very happy where we are at with the Mac right now". I don't like the sound of it.

Haswell cpu is a big jump from Ivy. they may just jump the ivy and put in haswell in mid 2013.

One reason is the Haswell IGP is supposed to be really good. When the switch from the c2d cpu to the sand happen it was a huge jump in theory the Ivy to haswell will be a big step up.

The sales from the new phone are huge so once again they don't need iMac Macmini or Mac pro profits. The stock went up again. apple would sell a pair of drums to use drum phones and if it was their best seller they would do it at the expense of the desktop line of macs.
 
So you think Cook means imac...am I bothered about loss of sales, thinks I will sell a pile of iphones instead.

If it is going to be released on the 25th then there will have to be rumors over the weekend
 
Heard similar rumors

Been following this thread from the start, and I must admit - I had to sign up just to share with you macfantasts my story:

I stopped by the apple store today and was interested in purchasing the iMac, and the assistant personally said to me - "dont buy yet, there's a new model coming to stores, very soon". He also pinpointed out that it will have the Ivy bridge.

Rumors or not? Im not gonna judge, just wanted to share what I heard today :) :p:)

funny how the employees of Apple Stores which don't know anything more than us actually go out and say stuff like this. If apple knew who they were I would guess they would give them a massive reprimand. It's bad for business and they don't even know for sure.
 
I'm sure stores are getting sick of people asking 'where are the new iMac's?' I know they don't like me going in there :rolleyes:

Wait...you were allegedly told IN the Apple Store by Apple STAFF.

Why would you say 'rumours or not' if you personally experienced it?

And why would you go there to buy an iMac if you've been 'following this thread from the start'?
