Last Monday I was very sure about tomorrow (25th). Now, not so much. Stocks are back up in too good shape. 2nd/9th are the best guesses now.

All I want to buy is an iMac with a standart SSD instead of a HDD, but in the Apple store ist costs extra 500€. Thats alot too much.
I dont need Ivy-Bridge or a better GPU. But i dont want to buy a new 2011 iMac and try to put an own SSD in it.

Why doesnt Apple sell cheaper SSD as an option?

Sorry for my bad English.

We could potentially see a rumor toward the end of today saying the new iMacs are releasing tomorrow.

Sometimes with past releases, I've seen a rumor on this site about a release hours prior to the new models being released.

Lets hope it comes sooner than later.

The annoying thing right now is that the iPhone is eating up every news blog around. No one has time to write anything about the iMac right now.

Macs appear to no longer be important to even Mac-related sites since the launch of the iPhone and the iPad. I suppose it's because Apple sells orders of magnitude more iOS devices so that is what the leakers focus on and they ignore the "boring" Macs, so the sites have no news to report even if they wanted to.

We have seen some leaks - the unibody case design for the MBP comes to mind - but in general, when Apple chooses to announce a new Mac product - portable or desktop - it's often a surprise.

We should be seeing whispers about now though if it were tomorrow...

Hope so....

Well, I realy hope so. I'm from Holland and this is te in some kind the last available date for me. Next week our government raises our taxes by 2% on everything we buy. So... a new imac that costs me about 2000 euro this week will cost me about 2040 euro next week.... I guess the folks at apple could buy a little country like Holland so I think they won't be botherd by this news... then again.... I like them, they must like me.... so..... good people in cupertino, lend a dutch fellow a hand....

The reason I'm holding off buying an iMac is that the 2011 iMac cost €1158 when it came out in May 2011 and guess what? It still costs €1158. It'd be a very stupid purchase at this stage for me. For others it may be just what they need.

Because of inflation, it actually went down in price...

I'll be honest with you, "I've seen a rumor on this site about a release hours prior to the new models being released." I've heard this and similar other past experiences on past releases but one thing we should learn by now is that apple is not going according to how it has been done in the past :(

Nope, not tomorrow, too close to iPhone launch. If I had to guess, it would be 9th or 16th.

Yeah thinking you´ll get a new imac tomorrow will only disappoint. It´s very unlikely. Today starts in store pickup of iphones as well. I think from next tuesday we can start refresh the apple.com/store page with double rate :) ...then triple the tuesday after etc..in the end of october it will be a refresh mayhem!

I agree.

I think this "delay" is really legitimately due to the screen issue we have heard. I know many people say this is all BS and that there won't be a 2012 iMac. I bet if this screen issue didn't crop up, we would've seen a 2012 iMac released already.

The iMacs are not new from Apple

Last Monday I was very sure about tomorrow (25th). Now, not so much. Stocks are back up in too good shape. 2nd/9th are the best guesses now.

“Stocks are back up in too good shape.” The new stock at Amazon is loaded with Lion. Apple would not be their immediate source; Apple has been loading with Mountain Lion since June. This “new” stock evidently dates before that.

The irony is that people who have been waiting on the 2012 iMac since february on the grounds that they won't pay for 1 year old sandy bridge tech, will now be in the position to buy 1 year old ivy bridge tech.

Seems like theyre shuffling stock around. Mac mini's have been delayed to ship for some people. Interesting thing on Amazon.

I think if you forget about Amazon, they probably found some sources to restock. Look at places like j&r and bestbuy... there´s no imacs, they have nothing to offer.

HAH! That's an interesting point. By xMas this year it'll be 9 months for Ivy Bridge. Hopefully there'll be some refreshed processors in time for new Mac's.

Personally I don't think the stock level means much. The iMac on sale now were probably made 2 months ago, the last in production before the 2012 iMac went into production.

Im pretty sure we would have heard something about an update tomorrow before now, most likely it will happen within next 2 weeks. The wait is bad though!!!

Anyone know what games are currently on the mac app store?
