One thing I don't get is, fine apple don't have to release it's dates but do they not have any respect for their customers to explain why the stock is so low!!!
Not withstanting some of your valid points, this board is for people eagerly anticipating the next iMac release, many of whom have been waiting for months. Although it's human nature to want to blame someone else most of us appreciate that it's mainly OUR fault trying to double guess product release timelines.
The 2011 iMac is a perfectly good machine which for people waiting since January 2011 would have benefited from so waiting is a fools game. One many of us are frustratingly committed to so your comments may be misinterpreted as trolling. I know that was not your intention but if I may be so forward, the financing decision regarding your next purchase is your affair, not Apple's.
Suffice to say, you are buying through a distributor for the discount and the payment terms BUT if it's inventory visibility you want, go to Apple directly and you can have a machine TODAY! If it's financing holding you back, there's many credit cards on zero percent introductory deals that you can utilise to fund your purchase. None of these points are really anything to do with Apple.
