I've been using my dad's MBP while waiting for the 2012 iMac. I showed him airplay with his iPhone and Airplay mirroring. He really wants his computer back.

At least there is a significant difference in delivery dates on the iMacs now.
If you add a whatever other product in stock you will get it delivered the day after. The iMac will be delivered one week later. At least this proves apple is struggling to meet demands with the stocks of the curent iMac. Either new models are on the horizon or they will produce more of the current model (which I doubt they will)

fffff yes!! Any day now. Unfortunately it will be an extremely late spec bump though oh well

Am I missing something? What is chasing the tail of stock availability do? Why are lots of people doing so?

Been following for a while, and whenever someone tracking a low/unavailable stock, a day or two later, they get butthurt cuz the stock is back up with "next day delivery" or something.

I beg your pardon, I see that you hit the spec options (by the price) on the iMac part but left the MBP alone. That's probably why the iMac will take longer to ship. Maybe. Can you do it again but this time BTO the Macbook?

Speculating is all we are doing here really, but I do know one thing to be a fact. If the Imac range is NOT refreshed after the event shortly I am going to get my ears and various other parts of my anatomy forcibly removed by my buddy next door.

He's been waiting on my advice for the refresh, and I advised him that waiting was the best option.

If I'm wrong and they don't refresh the range...I'm toast..:D

it's not consistent though. imo, slipping delivery dates aren't indicative of a refresh until it happens across the board (all apple stores).

I did not bto it. Its the standard model

It seems its only both the 21.5" and the top 27" that has late delivery, the low 27" delivers the day after. But at least its slipping dates. Lets hope it is a reason for this.

Perhaps circumstances have changed since they wrote the article, but according to their own buyer's guide, the iMacs are clearly more scarce than the minis.

Today or really soon.
Here in Greece stock on all big electronic stores are running very very low. Just a few pieces here and there.
I will have to buy something within 2012 so I am getting worried that if they will not update soon I will not be able to find a 2011 version to buy as well.

I'm wondering whether any local stores might do good deals on ex demo models. I know that the PC World store down tbe road from me have an iMac on display, but none in stock.

This will not surprise anyone, but I stopped by the local Apple Store yesterday and asked if we were going to get new iMacs this year. He said lots of people have been asking but he really didn’t know.

I am looking for an alternative just in case no new imac will come soon but I cant seem to find a decent one in Greece/Europe. If I was in the US i dont thing that I could have waited so long, there are great PCs available the:

http://store.vizio.com/ca27a2.html
http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/st...0551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&categoryId=16155
http://www.dell.com/us/soho/p/xps-one-27-2710-aio/fs

Non of them are available here so if you want a good all in one imac is a one way situation.

Sony looks nice...is it matte screen?

I'm seriously looking at options too. Not ready to go PC though. Thinking of the BTO matte MBP 15 and a third party 27" matte screen.

Then when the Mac Pro arrives (if it does) sell the MBP and go for that.

OR if the iMac was released before that maybe consider it if it had glare reduction. The glossy screen is the dealbreaker for me or else I'd just cave and buy the 2011. This crap is getting old and taking too much time out of my life.

What time do we need to check the store if we want to be first to post 'STORE IS DOWN!!! OMG!!! IMACS!!!" ?

Apple's online site availability is not really a great indicator, in my opinion.

John Lewis only has the base 21.5" in stock. The other 3 models are all "email when available", which isn't normal.

I don't think there is going to be a 2012 iMac.
1) its not going to come out today
2) invitations will be sent out for the iPad mini event so no iMac can be released all this and next week
3) I doubt it will be released with the iPad mini as its a new idevice
4) it will then be to close to iPad mini as apple are rumored to ship 10 million.
5) it will then be mid November and be too close to christmas so no 2012 imac.

only time can tell I guess.
Would be silly though if you cannot easily buy an iMac near christmas. But everything is possible.
