Oct 9 is officially a wash. My crystal ball missed. Ah, such is life.

As strange as it sounds, a big-bang launch (where some or all of the products are shown at the event) is now the most plausible. Get ready to take a microscope to the invitations when they come out.

Don't dare to hope this, starting instead to see no 2012 Imac at all.

I did the same exact same the day they launched, however took it back to Apple a week later for full refund. Really bad battery and heating up issues. Back with my trusty iPhone 4 for the moment. Calling by Apple store this afternoon as I am in town. Hopefully a new iPod Touch will be resistible enough LOL

Surely not long now :)

Now don't make me sad. I do not hope mine get these problems. :D

How are you deciding this? Do we know this for sure?

Store would have been down by now if they were coming out today.

Fear not. It's coming. Kuo can't possibly nail the Retina MBP and then imagine display issues on a 2012 iMac when no 2012 iMac exists. The main problem is that none of us are terribly good at deducing the launch date.

Problem is stock is almost non existing...

So lets hope Apple will provide...

1. New iMac (refreshed, updated, totally new)
or
2. Restock with model from 2011

I prefer option 1 but hey lets wait and see....

Finally, someone is talking sense. Wish only Apple can understand this same feeling!!

Here in UK the mac pro and iMac on Apple store still have the same delivery date, the 11th. We're either REALLY behind the rest of the world or this is another red herring folks.

Apple Reseller in my country was confirmed to me that the iMac will be updated sometime at the end of 2012

Those who say the iMac is no portable :D

For this to be believable you need to make it look like a quote...

"...we can confirm that the iMac will be updated sometime at the end of 2012."

-Apple Reseller (Name & Location Withheld)

"...The iMac will be updated sometime at the end of 2012."

-Apple Reseller (tracocomputers & Slovakia)

Called my local Apple Premium Reseller. I only asked about the base 21.5" (that's what I'd buy and I didn't want to bug him too much) and he said they have exactly one in stock, but he supposes that more could be ordered without much issue.
He said that I haven't been the only one asking about iMacs lately (LOL) and when I asked if new ones are about to come out, he said that "they have been 'about to come out' for three months now." (ha!) He also added that for a while, some time ago, the stock had actually dried up and it looked like a refresh was imminent, but then it all went back to normal.
He speculates — but he knows no more than us — that it should be out in a couple of weeks at most since the iPhone hype is dying out. He wholeheartedly suggested that I wait if I can, something I particularly appreciate as he did so against his own interest of making an immediate sale.
I guess I'll brace myself for the rest of the month...

Well..actually he could..Imac is different by Mini basically for having a display, retina is the major trend this year..so ,if all the hardware parts were available..which could be the reason behind the delay...well something with new displays...even more there was a rumor about better assembled displays..i don't remember..,i hate to say this because this utter delay is a pain and i wish to see it ending as soon as possible...as soon.. .
ps.Kuo?Where are you now?

I can tell stories, too.

Guys, need your help. This is my first mac and after ordering it just last week I am in a need for urgent upgrade.

All I want to know is if I get refurbished iMac what are the downsides? I don't care if there are few scratches on back of the panel as long as front of the screen is clear. But apart from cosmetic side, is it any different in running? does it have fresh install or what ever previous owner installed?
