20days left in October if nothing happend my money will go in combo

rMBP + CD + NAS

:eek: Ugh! Spending even more money on something you didn't even want in the first place. Doesn't make sense to me. No wonder Apple has so much money, I guess it's partly because of decisions like these.

Uhum ... you got big money to spend !!! Lucky you ...

Budget that i have is 3000EUR-4000EUR for spending now i would like to go for iMac only but i cannot wait any longer...Need new unit at home ASAP for work...

As long as invested come back i don't minding spending little bit more then i should...So far every item that i bought from Apple was sold as well for nice bucks...Including my 2011 Feb iMac...I keep cycle of replacing old for new short so investment is lower on long run....To elaborate investing in rMBP + NAS + CD will be ok for longer run because....NAS i will practicly get for free (Work) CD will be bought with 20% discount from vendor that i work with and rMBP will be bough with student discount that my brother have of 6%....So initial saving is well lets say if i put this with numbers

rMBP 2900EUR - 6% = 2726EUR and this will be paid in 12month without rent
NAS around 600EUR with HDD's - 50% discount = 300EUR
CD = 999EUR - 20% discount = 799EUR

Totall = 3825EUR
Last iMac i bought for 3200EUR sold for 2250EUR and used it for 20month.

Basically if you put in month perspective i paid my iMac 47.5EUR per month for 20months.

Oh that's true. I bet you'll be happy with the purchase, whatever it is. For me personally, I tried using Macbook like this. Well not with Thunderbolt/Cinema display but I had an Arc dock, external stuff attached to it.
It wasn't bad but I felt like it's such a waste of money/resources because my laptop went with me only like a once in two months. I decided I wanted something more powerful and not laptop again.
I must admit I finished a circle. Started on PC towers because of power and expandability, then went to laptops because portability was a plus at the time I was a student, lived in a dorm and used to go home every weekend.
Switched to mac in Uni 2 years ago, portability was still a plus when I took it to classes but not a necessity. For past two years I started doing little freelance stuff with HD video and discovered that I needed more computing power and fast storage. But I'm still on a budget so no Thunderbolt RAIDs for me.

Seriously considering getting used Mac Pro or hackintosh because now I see the tower as a plus again, I already have a laptop covering my portable needs which are only few occasions in a single year.

I suppose thinking about Win8 is a sign of desperation, it wouldn't tempt me.

So, what's the date on the Xbox720?

Every day I click on my macrumors.com bookmark regularly, in the hope of some front-page rumors on the '2012 iMac'. When I realize that there are no front-page news I go to this thread to see the latest speculations. I desperately need a new iMac... the waiting is starting to get on my nerves, but no way I am buying a 500+ days old iMac for the same price it had when it was launched.

End of 2013 through 2014 i think.
Not a sign of desperation i need to invest my money where there's a little future,
Apple signs are showing Osx maybe on its last leg,even if this sickness is totally artificial.,
thats why i will buy a Classic ( perhaps the last one from Apple till retina everywhere) MacBook Pro with 650m ( i still have to choose if with just 512MB or 1 GB..because 200€ for just 512 MB are way overpriced..clearly a move to force you to a retina..)

I think like you but come the end of October I may cave the 2011 is still a good machine I think.

But "forcing" a customer to buy something that its even falsely advertise,(as someone showed here), its not a good way to win his trust and loyalty,
its a good way to lose him.
Well with me..its actually working,sadly.

I do the same thing, even though I know that I won't find anything different, LOL. I'd buy a 2011 iMac if I absolutely needed one, but I can wait at least another month or so, so I will. However, if we get into 2013 without an update, I'm going to wonder if I should be waiting for whatever Tim Cook was referring to for pro users.
