It appears to be a screenshot from the UK store, but I see nothing of the sort. I'm calling it a fake, even the font and especally spacing is completely different compared to what's on http://store.apple.com/uk/browse/home/shop_mac/family/imac/select

I want to believe, but this...

Not to mention that the F in financing is in caps in the fake photo and lowercase in there real deal. The font weights seem off as well as the line-height. Absolutely a FAKE.
Below is a screenshot of what it SHOULD look like from this link.

Lol guys that was the most obvious fake ever. It was clearly just a thunderbolt display with half cut off. Always think if you could do it In photoshop then it's probably fake.

Yeah it was fake :p Just thought id put some false humour and fyi I just inspected the elements and recoded it no fonts were changed and I didnt change the spacing either most of it was copied from the mbpr specs.

Gotcha. Weird how it's "Financing" on the UK store and "financing" on the US store. You would think Apple would keep the user experience identical. For a company that prides themselves on being pixel perfect it's strange. Shows what I know.

Why change?
Your resale of your mid 2010 is presently not being effected by a new model your machine is only 1 generation back... from a machine available new today? and still commands a very good resale.

That said both it and the 2011 model will drop dramatically if Apple ever get round to releasing another iMac and I am sure you will see a lot of 2011 machines being passed off as a late 2012 purchase etc whenever that happens - as the resale of the 2011 machine is being painfully kept artificially high without an update.

Performance is probably not going to be vastly improved either, seems like a lot of hassle to change machine - smart money would be get out now with the best price for your 2010 machine and hang out for a 2012 update? but then be without a machine for an indefinite time.

THE 2010 has a value that will end soon, it can run snow leopard and many other osx's. Right now people may still want this. Also he may have time on an applecare policy.

This is going to become unimportant very soon.

He should sell his 2010 pushing it as snow/lion/mountain/windows 7/linux capable. maybe even windows 8.

He could then get a refurb 2011 or if lucky with timing a 2012.

Some people are quite slow on this site. All I did was re-code the apple website and used the stock 27" Apple display and just changed the line of code with information about specs. I didn't change the spacing font weight or anything of that matter and im a graphic designer so I do pick up on those details. I clearly wouldn't sit here for hours just to make it look perfect and the reason for this was to lighten the mood due to the fact everyone is dying of depression because of no iMac release dates.

Also im 92% sure they will release a iMac this October so waiting 19 days isnt so hard is it ?

If there is nothing by the start of November then your in the clear to buy a 2011 model but im sure they will release a iMac line this October.

What do you gain from posting fake stuff though?

Maybe the big learning from this 1900+ thread is that

THERE IS NO "next big date"

It'll happen when it happens.

Thanks for the well thought out contribution. I think every single person knows that "it will happen when it happens", because things generally happen, you know, when they happen.

You are welcome

It actually was well thought out - a lot of wheel spinning speculation = zippo.

The October 10th invitations never materialized - churning, burning, guessing...

It is a rumor site - so be it. People are reading happenings from the cloud patterns and tea leaves - so far it ain't working.

At some point someone will get it right - just like the broken clock displays the correct time twice a day.

" You can get so confused
that you'll start in to race
down long wiggled roads at a break-necking pace
and grind on for miles across weirdish wild space,
headed, I fear, toward a most useless place.
The Waiting Place...

...for people just waiting.
Waiting for a train to go
or a bus to come, or a plane to go
or the (iMac) to come, or the rain to go
or the phone to ring, or the snow to snow
or waiting around for a Yes or a No
or waiting for their hair to grow.
Everyone is just waiting.

Waiting for the fish to bite
or waiting for wind to fly a kite
or waiting around for Friday night
or waiting, perhaps, for their Uncle Jake
or a pot to boil, or a Better Break
or a string of pearls, or a pair of pants
or a wig with curls, or Another Chance.
Everyone is just waiting."

The lack of an iPad mini announcement doesn't bode well for us iMac yearners...an ominous sign and real eye opener...I don't think it'll happen this year.

----------

On the plus side...I just got an iPhone 5...:D

I wait october.

I wait for October and if none show up I turn to an ASUS Windows has already looked at it.
Great power for the money instead of a poor old iMac.:D

What's the point to this this is so fake there's no point of doing this whoever did its easily to spot the fakeness they didn't even tried

Yeah I guess some people get off by seeing other people getting false hopes. It's for the same reason as those making viruses, no reason except sabotage.
Though this was a bad attempt to say the least. :D

I think the Thunderbolt Display gets USB3, also same display as new iMac, as in high res of some sort.

It's not just USB3, I guess. What about MagSafe 2? To my opinion, they should've updated the CD in June as well, offering a "consistent" working environment. But then, one could say that they could've updated the iMac at the same time. Since it didn't happen, I believe that these "screen lamination issues" are really present, esp. for the 27"-sized displays.

TC can't stop emphasizing that Apple wanna make the best products/gadgets in the world. Therefore, I guess Apple rather solves the problems, how much time it'll ever take, than throwing "just" a spec-bumb into the market.

Though, I'm feeling confident that we'll see new iMacs, Mac minis and CDs on this side of christmas; but if not... life goes on and on.
