3.) Integraded SSD on mainboard (Basic model with 32GB for OSX (by that i mean entry model with lowest price))
4.) No place for second 2.5" Drive

How will that work? Where does one put their applications, documents and media?

OCD much?

I've had five internal SuperDrives go out on me over the years. I find it easier to just buy an external then replace the one inside, though with them likely being removed entirely in the next refresh, it's not something I'll have to worry about anymore anyway. The new slim ODD's (both DVD and Blu-ray) fit easily into most standard laptop cases, so it's not an issue.

Yeah, they are not great. The one in my 2009 MBP still works, but it's more like a dying mongrel, than a sleek Lassie. It struggles to read many discs and makes horrible grinding noises, then after five minutes, it spits out the disc in disgust. Those discs work fine in other drives.

I was never a fan of my internal drives grinding. :p

Let's say the next Macbook line comes with Retina Display. Is it likely to be an option for the 13"? Currently you can only get a hi-res display for the 15" so I'm thinking that kind of thing would be mirrored with this next line and Retina.

It's more likely for the 13 than the others because its screen is smaller; retina would be easier to implement. (It'd also be lower res. retina, so cheaper too.)

Ok guys, I need all of your powers for just a second here.

So turns out I had a business trip to LA during WWDC, which just got cancelled, damn, which means I wont be able to pick one up while im up there.

The thing is, I also plan on upgrading the MBP to the max with a 512 SSD and 16 gigs of RAM. I work in video editing so yes, it is needed.

I currently have a friend in the US who is coming back my way on the 4th of June, so hell be able to mule me back my stuff, which if I may add is considerably more expensive where I am located.

This is where you guys come in, I need your opinion on what my safest bets will be in terms of selecting RAM and SSD, so far I have 204 pin 1333mhz 16 gig RAM from Komputer Bay, and the CT512M4SSD2 from Crucial as a SSD. Also considering buying an external Blu Ray drive from Samsung...

Thoughts? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure (100%) that if the 15 gets retina, the 13 will too. If anything the 13 is the MOST likely, because it's smaller plus it's Apples best selling laptop size

I had another idea. Would a hackintosh laptop setup work too? I fear that if Apple's strict about things, they would know when I try to submit apps for approval.

MBP is not all about OSX. There is a lot more to it than what meets the eye. :apple:

MBP is a genius business investment...

...

As much as I want the redesign to be June, the Unibody Macbook was first released in october 2008..... :(

You do know that it's not actually 100% fact that the new MBP will have SSD? And if it is no one definitely knows what the min/max SSD capacity will be. So I'd probably hold your horses until you actually know what you'll be getting in the new MBP.

And not to mention that WWDC is June 11-15, so even if it is announced there and immediately available for sale, it is too late for your friend "muling" it to you on June 4. :p
