Keep in mind the 2009 keynote covered new mbps, iPhone 3GS, snow leopard, and iOS 3. With the phone added it needed to be longer. 2012 wwdc won't see a phone so .5 hours less seems right.

Great! Now we have photos of the next iPhone, but none of the next MacBook Pro! Is it really, really, going to be released in June? My only hope is to stick to the Bloomberg report and to the HiDPI mode of Mac OS X Lion, which are the most concrete piece of information we have so far...

Hey,

I'm figuring out wether to sell my Macbook Pro 13 2009 now on eBay or after the WWDC. I'm a little afraid that my Macbook will decrease in value when new MacBook come out, so I thought to sell it before. What do you guys think? I can probably live without a laptop for a week or so, but if the new Macbooks come out in July or even later I might have a problem :D Thanks!

Can't say I like the look of the new iPhone if those pictures are anything to go by.

The most drastic price drop occurs when a product passes its "newest in line" status onto a newer one. It's been 3 years since your laptop came out, so the value has already dropped quite a bit. A 2012 Macbook Pro being released won't affect it too much.
If you're in trouble if you make the wrong move: hang on to it for a bit longer. The slightly higher selling price you get by selling it now doesn't weigh up against any potential problems you may be getting yourself in.

Aside from the shine the photoshopper gave it, it looks ok. But the mock ups make it look like there is like a stainless steel finish on some areas of the laptop, especially this one and it doesn't look that great.

I love these mock-ups, but I feel like we're staying too conservative with the bezel sizing. I mean, while we're dreaming... LESS BEZEL, MORE SCREEN!

Don't forget the function of the bezel. What does a thick, black bezel do and why is it there?

It helps you focusing on your screen, putting a physical border between your screen area and your surroundings, so you're not as easily distracted. (Of course you can still be distracted by things on your screen itself )

Those mockups look really tacky to me. Think it's the cheap looking shiny metal rather than the actual shape.

4 questions:

1. Do you think there's a chance we'll hear anything about this during Tim Cook's D10 talk? I know it's not Apple, but maybe he has his own style as a CEO. I dunno, just wondering what you guys think.

2. If the new MBPs are to come out at WWDC at all, it will be at the keynote first thing June 11th, right?

3. If they do come out one day of WWDC, when can I expect the Apple store in a pretty big area to have them ready for purchase?

4. In the past, hasn't Apple been pretty good at keeping prices the same release to release? I keep hearing about all these new parts and features and I can't quite decide if it's just the natural improvement of technology and availability of those parts or a heightened price that will provide for that. For example, could I expect to pick up a 13" one for <$1200?

Thanks!

1. No
2. Yes
3. Online immediately, in store next day
4. Yes, expect prices the same or no more than a $100 difference either way

This image was posted a while ago for a 15" MBA mockup. Looks pretty similar to the mockup of the 15" MBP mockup on 9to5mac but with a smaller bezel like other people have been requesting.

Are you following the Tim Cook interview?

Walt: What's coming out next week?

Cook: That's a great question, but I'm not going to answer it.

Walt: But what's coming out?

Cook: Some great stuff!
