Quick question about these new product launches ...

I'd like to by a MBP in the next few months in time to start graduate school. If new MBP models come out before August, would Best Buy discount any of the current models? I really don't need the latest thing, but I wouldn't mind getting an "older" model for a bit of a discount. I think I'd prefer that over buying a refurbished model. Besides, I have a Best Buy card, so I'm probably stuck buying from there anyway. Also, how deep would BB discount an older model to get it out the door?

Just a little tantalizing tidbit... The last 4 refreshes of anything, IPad, iPhone, and both 2011 MacBook pros all had downs of over 4 hours. No other time has a maintenance been over 4. Currently, we are at 6.

Could be a new image, however it is already "shopping opening time" for potential buyers in Europe and thats why I find it strange since people are unable to buy directlly from Apple.

Simple image launches don't take 6 hours. They could relay out the entire Mac line in 6 hours of they wanted to... Hmm...

Yep. 10:30 here in the UK (11:30 mainland Europe) and it's still closed

OK. VERY untechie person here! 59 years old etc.
I am going to buy a mbp this time. Want to get the best general performance from it so looking to configure RAM/HD/SSD.
Which is best to go for if money is limited - bigger RAM or higher spec HD/SSD?
Realise the answer will probably be how long is a piece of string http://cdn.macrumors.com/vb/images/smilies/smile.gif
but just wondered what you experts think. http://cdn.macrumors.com/vb/images/smilies/confused.gif

8gb of Ram and an SSD is all you will realistically need.

All hope is not lost! I did some more math, and realized there were big store downs a day or 2 before big releases as well.

In Spain Apple Store still down.

Five minutes ago I started loading but did not complete the load, now it show "We'll be back".

Something it's happening or simply maintenance?

Just one of those extra long maintenance. Nothing special because Hong Kong Apple website is up with no change :) Oh wells hahahah.
