2012 Macbook Pro Redesign

So if they eliminate the optical disk drive, am I going to have to jump through the hoop of buying an external disk drive to install Windows via Boot Camp, or is there a simpler method available? How do Air users typically deal with this?

That's not what I was saying at all, my friend and I'm sorry it came out like that. I was just saying what you said came out like an attack towards me even though we were basically saying the same thing.

Well, I'm very much against anyone getting attacked, but, I have to say that I respectfully disagree. Try hanging out at arstechnica or anandtech and mention that you have a Mac and you're interested in knowing more about Ivy Bridge or something. Then count how many idiots dogpile into the conversation to mention how dumb you are to be spending more than they did on their their cheap-ass Dell. Don't offer your opinion on anything the way you did here - just mention that you're a mac user.

If you think the stereotypical smug Justin Long Mac user is annoying, you have NO idea how much worse it is from the other side. The twits-per-capita density is just as great in the PC world as it is in the Mac world, but there are 10x as many of them hounding 1/10th as many as us. Ugh.

He doesn't mean in terms of releasing refreshed hardware before everyone else. He's talking about their technology always being ahead of the pack. And if these MBP's have retina displays then it validates his comment that much more.

By some months you mean 1 right? Apple held their delay for a reason, and we shall see shortly.

I just sold my perfectly fine 2011 13" because of the refresh/redesign rumors.
It's a sick sick disease.
 
The Apple Store has been down almost everyday from time to time in many countries. I've never seen this kind of downtime before.There seems to be a lot of provisioning going on behind the scenes. I anticipate a very large Mac roll out whereby almost all Macs are updated.

Perhaps Apple is just teasing us, as they know everybody's going mental when they notice the Apple online store is down :D

I doubt they will introduce the new MacBook Pro lineup before WWDC. Be it a complete redesign or just a speed bump, revelation at WWDC will cause a huge media hype either way.

I say who cares if the site goes down.. Apple is large enough to have a test server and all that other stuff require to web pages... why would they take down the "real site" for that, over and over again.... I say it has nothing to do the new MBP..

but damn it release it already

WWDC is just 1 week away. No updates before then.

Seriously I dont understand how everyone didn't understand this before lol... Even when it was 3 weeks away there was no way apple would randomly introduce something when they have a huge conference upcoming.

You and me both. I have roughly $1700 to spend and that's just enough to get me a 15" with an education discount at the current model's rates.
 
I was gonna go for the 15" when it was released, but now I'm tempted to just get the 13". Be a nice saving in cash, for what may be no majorly noticeable difference in performance for what I'll be doing, I guess I'll decide after seeing the new ones.

We will see i guess depents if the 13" model will get a dedicated gpu or not. and what the hdd/ssd space will be
