How can you start saying ,' yeah i heard its gonna be a complete redesign' when basically everything we speculated about has been false ?!(for the just updated line up)

Firstly, whats with the sneaky URL link? Secondly, what 'just updated lineup' are you referring to?

Exactly yeah, I'm presumming a nice bump in resolution will be there too. Couldn't get myself to buy a laptop with 1280x800 last year; especially when Adobe's Creative Suite minimum requirements were a resolution of at least 1280x900.
You make a good point (tangentially, at least): on a 13" MBP, there are a few applications where there simply isn't enough vertical real-estate to work properly. Off the top of my head, I can't recall what these are, but I know that they're there as I've noticed this before.

I'm certainly hopeful that they can significantly increase the resolution in the 13" (and give us, the users, the choice between more space on screen (with smaller text, etc.) or higher resolution with the same size of text).

Anyway, not long to wait now.... MBP officially sold (money in the system) and just some final transfer stuff to do before I swap the new SSD into the MBP and then box it up for its new appreciative owner.... :)

He doesn't mean in terms of releasing refreshed hardware before everyone else. He's talking about their technology always being ahead of the pack. And if these MBP's have retina displays then it validates his comment that much more.
That's my point, it's speculation and not fact. I hope he's right but you can't take away the fact there are on the market available today better spec'd laptops etc. I'm a fan of the apple range but I'm also a fan of other pc companies products and find it amusing there are so many "blinkered" Apple fan boys who just won't accept that maybe, just maybe there are actually some very good comparable products out there in the market.

Sooo... Just had a conversation with someone I know who had a meeting with someone very high up in the shipping company that handles all the apple freight to Australia and NZ today. They are expecting a huge shipment of new apple products (haven't been told what) in the next couple of weeks. So looks like something is on its way!

I can't say who it was but promise it's legit.

Fantastic. That's where I am so very excited to hear that!

And now a huge shipment to The Netherlands :)

My local Apple store is terrible! When a new product/update comes out, that's when they get the last one in. It's always 6 months behind, they still have the iPad 2 and have *just* got in the last 2011 MBP. Seems like I will be buying the new MBP online, although I was always planning too as the Apple website gives a 14% student discount whereas the store gives an 8% student discount.

Apple just bought a couple of stores in our local shopping centre and they closed down last week so hopefully there will be a new, bigger store that is actually up-to-date soon!

Damn this wait is killing me for a new laptop, i have been living with my iPad as an alternative laptop until apple releases the new macbook. I can say this though i would never trade my macbook for a iPad i prefer the macbook, the physical keyboard larger screen and better software for mobility and the iPhone for iOS.

Only people with the most minimal needs would be able to completely replace their computer with any tablet, including the iPad. For now anyways. When people add a Bluetooth keyboard to their tablet they are already demonstrating that their needs are beyond what the native tablet can provide.

Seeing as WWDC is 11-15th, what date would Apple be likely to announce the new MBP at the event? Also what date would they be available from?

Obviously I would rather they were announced/available on the 11th/12th rather than 15th/16th but what do people think is more likely?

Usually the only public press-invited announcements at WWDC are during the opening Keynote on the first day. The other days are all confidential information for developers.

Keynote, first speech.
