Goodbye to the 13" Macbook Pro. Damn. This sorta makes me feel better about having bought a Macbook Pro 13" again if they kill it off.

I enjoy hearing people whine about the 13inch macbook pro. Cause if theres one overpriced piece of **** that apple sells to idiots, its the 13 mbp.

have fun with your gaming-less, optical less, hd-less fat ugly pos.
:)

Suppose the mbp in this color does look pretty damn good.

Don't be. It's awesome computer. If they really kill MBP 13'' in 2012 I probably will get 2011 MBP or 2012 MBA.

If someone were to go back and read all of the posts you've made in this thread, you would be immediately thrown in an asylum. You're a dangerously insane individual whose comments are painfully transparent.

Stop the awkward overcompensating and cognitive dissonance and go enjoy your macbook. Leave this thread to those of us who had the patience to wait it out for the new ones.

I just read them, damn you are right.

After reading article after article, I don't see them cutting the MBP 13" out. I reckon it will get ivy bridge and a few other spec bumps but no retina, and the 15 and 17 will get the most attention. But thats just a stab in the dark!

Just worried about the price now! just have to see what monday brings! :)

Of course we will get RETINA!

Apps are starting to appear! http://iphone.appleinsider.com/articles/12/06/08/newly_approved_mac_app_store_offering_features_retina_graphics.html

As much as I want a redesigned Mac lineup ... something deep down inside of me is saying that there won't be a drastic redesign. In these sort of situations, we usually get a picture leak of the laptop before the announcement and absolutely no pictures have surfaced ... I'm expecting the design of the laptop to look largely the same.

What it looks like is the new Macbooks are gonna be the redesign ones, lacking ODDs and ports that aren't as necessary, and the Pros are going to be the current macbook pros with retina displays.

You obviously haven't read all 180 pages properly :p I asked this in this thread a couple weeks ago - and you can't. I also did a thread about it and there's no real direct stream of it... Just vid blogs straight after the event ect

Damn it! I hold my head in shame whilst thanking you for confirming!

That's the reason i'll be purchasing a new 15 MacBook!

It's strange that with all this speculation about whether the 13" MBP is going to be upgraded or dropped or merged with the 13" MBA, this analyst believes that they are going to keep the 13" MBA, keep 13" MBP, and ADD ANOTHER 13" Macbook??

Something just doesn't seem right...

This article seems absolutely outrageous. People are just making **** up now for attention. Who is this "analyst" anyway!?

I don't think it does, it says that one of the 13" models is due for an August release rather than June like the rest, it could be that the Retina screen (or another component) is delayed for this model and that the bump to bring it to the same level as June releases will be delayed by 2 months.

That said, it doesn't explain the two 15" models with identical pricing, that is the glitch for me rather than the 13" duplicate!

They also say HDD by them, which suggests the others are SSD, so there may be a performance version and a storage version with equal pricing - small storage high performance or current performance with large storage? To keep the arguments down about 'preferring XXXX' etc

[Edit - It also does say 'estimates' on the picture, so it could be speculative and an either/or rather than an inclusive range. At least this image has the guts to admit that it isn't true! That should be your answer]

[Edit 2 - Thinking about it, this could actually reinforce the rumours about the ODD being dropped as it would mean Apple have an opportunity to broaden the scope through two different versions focused on Performance/Storage due to the inability to install an OptiBay]

It's certainly a very interesting insight. I've always thought that the average user wouldn't require super-high resolution screens. Therefore implementing a new line, albeit the defunct MacBook, seems a like a very interesting way for Apple to approach it.

Personally, I'll be happy with an Ivy Bridge i7, ethernet port (please) and a new thinner look. Lovely.

The average phone user probably doesn't need super-high resolution screens either....But they look pretty

Based on this picture and prices, I'm kinda skeptical about this lineup since you would have 2 13" laptops for the same price at $1,199 and 2 15" laptops for $1,799...

I am inclined to agree that it is highly unlikely that they will introduce new models with similar specs at the exact same price point. Even 100$ can make a big difference to peoples purchasing decisions.

Also I thought apple liked to keep things straightforward from a consumers perspective, ie: clear naming conventions, clear product differentiation, and clear pricing based on performance.

Although an entirely new Macbook line is a possibility, I think that for the sake of simplicity, convergence makes more sense.

This is only my opinion, and I have only recently started following Apple news... but as always we'll find out soon enough!

Let's hope we are all pleasantly surprised on Monday!

If I ordered a standard configuration of a new mac as soon as they are available after WWDC what will the shipping times be like? 1 week or the standard 24 hours we see on normal models at the moment?
