I was about to ask. I don't know if I missed it. Even though it doesn't effect me, I still wanted to see the specs they'd put on a new 17".
I know what you mean there. It's sad to see the 17" go. I'm surprised they've not killed off the 13" to force people to buy a 15" Pro.

Also no 15" air yet... interesting. Then again the new 15" Pro is thin... mhm.

Based on the rumors and what's happened today, I'd say it'll likely be coming in August.
why not just announce it today then?

Considering how much more expensive the 15'' is, it would force alot of people not to get Macs

I was nervous about the soldered on RAM also, but at least it comes with 8 GB. I know I would not last with 4. SSD is just big enough for me also. I'm using 200 GB now, but there's a lot of crap on here I don't need. Hardest part will be figuring out what new stuff I want to put on there. I think I'll just keep this computer since I have over 4 years of work/school stuff on here.

Can someone tell me how much they think the NEW MBP 15" will be in the UK? As it starts at $2199 in the US, surely converting that its about £1420?

It's a sad day in that sense. Regardless of your personal feelings towards it, the 17" MBP was a pretty special unit. Maybe they'll bring it back in August with the next gen 13", but I won't hold my breathe.

A moment of silence for our fallen comrade.

The old $2199 Mac sells for £1850 here. The increase is partly because the US prices don't include tax.

is the only change in the 13" mbp just the processor +0.1 mhz?

i cant see the other changes, it's still got the intel card right?

is anyone going to wait and see if there's a 13" mbp selling with retina display in august? i don't know if i can hold off another 2 months but i know i'll regret getting the new 13" this week only to find out the retina display one is released in august! oh dear dilemmaaaaaaaa :(

I dont see them releasing a retina 13 inch until at least the next major refresh, which we of course know will not be in August. I dont see them releasing another new macbook model in just under 3 months....

I'd be pissed if the 13 inch came out in August. What would make it take longer to come out?

I wouldn't expect there to be a 13" MacBook Pro with Retina in August.

I think that the New 15" MacBook Pro will replace the Mac Pro perhaps.

I cannot wait to get mine, was going to go for the standard 15", but I could not be contempt knowing that there is another one with far, far superior graphics.
