You guys are gonna laugh at me but I'm telling you a team to watch next year is the Jacksonville Jaguars. They have almost won every game this year. If they can make a couple of good moves with staff they can be a contender.

It's going to be interesting to see what happens to the 49ers. Jim Harbaugh was the reason they became relevant again. Colin Kaepernick is going to be affected by this the most. Harbaugh was the one who wanted to draft him and decided to go with him over Alex Smith. Non-Typical QB's such as Kaepernick are basically expendable, only effective by those who draft them and game plan around them. Unless they find another coach who will implement a similar offense, the QB situation in SF could get a little messy.

49'ers just made it official and UoM has a news conference Tuesday to announce Harbaugh as the new head coach.
Yep, I saw the news story about the 49'ers parting company with Harbaugh and UoM folks meeting him today.

Isn't Gore a free agent? With a potent running game, they're going to be in a touch situation, even if they keep Gore, he's not getting any younger. RBs just don't wear well in the NFL. I agree it was Harbaugh who pulled the team together and brought success back the franchise. Most of the pieces were in place for him however, where as his successor will have a harder time, because I do think the team is worse for wear at this point.

How about dem Cowboys!
I give them credit, they came out loaded for bear and just went crazy on the redskins. The Pats were in a similar situation, but came out flat. If anything they should not even have risked Brady.

First time that I can remember seeing a fumble for a touchback. That D seemed to be on it in the second half.

If you're perceiving a school's academics based on sports teams, you definitely didn't go to a good college. Michigan is a public ivy league school. It's academics are amongst the best in the WORLD. the big 10 has many such schools. The sec is a joke academically by comparison.

None of the remaining big 10 schools with the exception of perhaps Northwestern are on par with Michigan academically. Michigan is one of the top 5 most endowed schools in the whole country despite being a public school.

I wouldn't say Brady is a "god" in this state, but he's pretty universally liked. I've been a michigan football fan for a long time and it would be pretty awesome to see Brady eventually get a job there, but I somehow doubt that would happen. At least we're getting Harbaugh :D

Also, US news and world report rankings are completely useless. They rank things as a magazine, not based on academic stature, research etc.
