This is the greatest thing EVER. Just a giant, eloquent FU. Dear lord I love Bill Belichick. So lucky he's our coach.
Holy crap that was amazing. I've never seen him that pissed - ever. And an FU to the Spygate scandal as well. The Super Bowl can't come fast enough.

If he spent the last week going through tests why didn't he say that in the first presser ? He mentioned nothing about conducting tests or the desire to do so.
As far as spygate. He tapes what 80,000 people saw ?
Give me a break. WHY would a coach videotape something 80,000 people saw ?
He explained that the process of rubbing the Patriots balls raises the psi by 1. I'm not sure how he'd know anything about the Colts balls and what their process is. I think he pretty clearly put the ball in the referees'/NFL's court.
Because he hadn't conducted the tests internally yet? He told the truth at the first press conference - he didn't know anything about balls or ball preparation. Fast forward to today, and he's spent the last 5-6 days gathering as much information as possible. Which he very thoroughly shared. What's hard to understand about that?
"We filmed signals that were being used in front of 80,000 fans every week, just like every other team did." Really? You don't understand why a team would do that? I would imagine the teams did it (before helmet communication) to see if they could crack the signals and get an advantage.
All he did was cause a huge deflection and bait and switch. We never learned anything but his word saying "we are not cheaters". There was no substance in that presser. It was a classic Belichick media troll.

What did he bait and switch, exactly? He detailed the process the Patriots went through as it relates to their game day ball breaking process, and how that affects the psi of a football. After an internal investigation, he felt confident the Patriots had done nothing wrong and provided facts to support his feelings.
How is that deflecting and how is that bait and switch? Deflecting to what?
The whole thing was a huge smoke screen. Ok why not release this information last week? It just sounds like a deflection. "I am not a crook".

I didn't see today's press conference but it sounds like Belichick did a complete 180 from yesterday. Yesterday he knew nothing, " go ask the quarterback " . Today he's an expert after running experiments. It's now the referees fault. Tomorrow I imagine it will be someone else's.
Anyone have a link to the present conference? Looks like I missed a good one.

Are the Patriots going to be enforcing punishment on themselves? Is it their call what happens as a result of this "scandal?" No? Then this analogy is dumb as hell. They got accused of cheating. They admitted they didn't deflate footballs or ask anyone to, but conducted due diligence to see if they could figure out what happened. They've come forward with their findings and said they look forward to the NFL continuing its investigation.
Your analogy would only work if Ferguson had an outside, ruling body to ALSO investigate and be in charge of any potential punishments. Of course, any organization is allowed to investigate internally, and it makes sense. There's a lack of information, they're trying to gather some.
It's hilarious that the Patriots doing due diligence is considered a knock against them. This is a clown show.

The Colts balls were likely inflated higher than New England's. So when they dropped, they were within range. New England's balls were at minimum allowed psi (as requested by the team), and so when they dropped they were not. I'd be interested to see what the psi readings of Colts balls were pre- and post-game. But I'm sure the NFL wouldn't be able to produce any actual helpful information. Unless I'm mistaken those readings aren't anywhere?
Again, Belichick said multiple times - they rub the balls the way Tom likes them and submit them to the referees. And yet the referees and the NFL are getting a complete pass from you guys? Seriously?
How can Bill Belichick know anything about the Colts balls? He's not an NFL employee, a referee or anything else. He did an investigation into how the Patriots prepare their balls to explain how they could have been low. The NFL hasn't provided any info on the Colts psi readings.
It's because it's Belichick and the Patriots.

they let QB's wear tacky gloves on their throwing hands so what the ******* does it matter how much air is in there!?!?!?
Because there's a rule that states how much air is supposed to be in the football. It doesn't matter if the rule is stupid, it just matters if anyone on the Patriots knowingly broke the rule.
