What a great series for the Yankees. Even in the game they lost, there were very promising signs by Sabathia. Not only that but they shut down arguably the best lineup in baseball.

Two straight walk-off wins against the Dodgers, and a sweep of the series. Love it. Justin Maxwell is looking like another shrewd scrap-heap pickup by Brian Sabean and company. When Hunter Pence comes back, the Giants will actually have some serious depth in the outfield: an area of the roster that looked like a major question mark coming in to the season.

And the Royals got into another bench-clearing altercation yesterday, this time against the White Sox. What on earth is the matter with them, anyway? Is it all Yordano Ventura, or is something else going on?

Adam Wainwright seems like a good reason for the NL to add the DH.

It's just so senseless at this point. Pitchers already do a job that destroys them physically. To put them up to bat and, in most cases, be an automatic out is silly to me.

That kind of injury could happen to anyone. I say do away with the DH in the American League.

I don't like the DH, but I've always been a National League kind of guy. Might as well keep it in the American League so there would remain a modicum of difference between the two leagues.

May is coming up. Right on schedule.

But it severely hurts the NL that the AL has the DH and the NL doesn't.

And I am tired of great pitchers careers ruined, HOF chances decreased, etc due to injuries they occurred hitting and running the bases. Chien Ming Wang was never the same after his foot injury I believe it was when he was running the bases.

It's bad enough we're on a Tommy John binge these past few years......

Agreed. The days of Pitchers as just another player are long gone. Pitchers are pitching less and less and getting hurt more and more. It is time to adopt the DH and end the silliness.

Eventually it'll happen and it will be done because of the Players Association. The DH adds money to the game and years of productivity for players. And at some point, I have to imagine that teams who are giving out massive contracts to pitchers may change their minds as well.

isnt this a forum to root for your team and not to put another team down? plus any team that doesnt make the playoffs this happens to them as well so your comment in invalid, nice try but no cigar...
This is a forum to talk about the game. And as you will see trash talk. Just because your Mets are on a nice run doesn't make you exempt from some ribbing. As we get deeper into the season and if the Red Sox come back from the dead, you will see me and Miss Spades going at it.:D

Nothing wrong with a little trash taking during a rivalry. I'd actually love to see another subway series in October, but I think this start by the Mets is too good to be true.

The Mets may come back to earth, but the NL East is a train wreck. As long as they play 500 ball going forward I think they run away with it.

Wednesday's Game in Baltimore will be closed to the public. And the weekend series against the Rays has been moved to Tampa.
