When I think about Aaron Hernandez, you know who I feel bad for? I mean obviously his victims and their families, and for his daughter. But beyond that, I feel bad for every high school kid who's just hoping to make it on a college team and every college player who watches the draft go by without getting a call. There are guys who would do anything for Arron Hernandez's level of talent...how to do they feel just watching him piss it all away like that?

Peterson is going to the Saints. A good move by the Saints.

Adrian Peterson plans to sign with the New Orleans Saints, he told ESPN's Josina Anderson Tuesday morning.

The deal, while technically covering two years, is a one-year deal plus a one-year option.

Peterson told Anderson that the deal is worth a base total value of $7 million. Here are the terms Peterson says he has agreed to at this point: The 2017 compensation is $3.5 million (all guaranteed at signing), which includes a $1 million guaranteed salary in 2017 and a $2.5 million signing bonus.

I don't know, the Saints are a pass happy offense, AP cannot block, he's old (for a RB) and who's incurred some significant injuries. I think the Saints over paid for him.

Possibly. But it isn't a long term deal, so if it doesn't work out, then the Saints won't be saddled with him for too long.

On another note, I'm not terribly happy to see Marshawn Lynch come to the AFC West.

This draft appears to be shaping up to be a dull one, not much drama or excitement. I think the most telling stories will be what will Cleveland do with its picks.

If history is any indication they will screw them up with players that will be out of the league within a few years.

The darling of the draft is Trubisky which I don't understand, he doesn't have the track record to show how well he may do, yet the Browns may very well pick him as #1

If they are smart they will go with Garrett number 1 and then trade up with the Titans or Jets at 5/6 to get Tribusky... that's the beauty of having so many picks. that is of course assuming the Jaguars don't take him at number 3 if they decide they are fed up with Bortles.

Dunno if Bernie Kozar hexed them, but the Browns are cursed, cursed I tells ya. The whiffed when they pick a QB in 1st (Tim Couch, Brandon Weeden and Johnny "Football") and miss out when they don't (Carson Wentz). I don't see good things for them until they have some front office stability. They change HC's and GM's more time than some people change underwear.

So what do you think about how round 1 went, I guess there were some surprises.
While there was a dearth of QB's in thre draft, I can't help but think that the browns are doomed to another hopeless season. True they have so many holes in their line up, anyone they draft will be helpful but without a solid QB, I do wonder.

I like Christian McCaffrey, and was a little surprised he lasted long enough for the Panthers to take him. I guess there may be some questions on his durability in the NFL, but I definitely think the Jets and chargers both could have benefitted with him on the team.

What do you think about the Texan's taking Deshaun Watson? Here's another team that was (is?) desperate for a QB

Heh. Many people agreed, but a fat lot of good that did them when the Bears leapfrogged everyone else to get Trubisky at #2. Still, glad they took Garrett.

Absolutely. We are hoping that Jimmy Haslam has finally learned that you can't do that. I'm cautiously optimistic that this time we're in it for the long haul, not the usual every-other-year team rebuilding.

I'm not a fan of draft grades and stuff. Trubisky looks like a reach, but if you were to redraft last year you would take Dak Prescott in the top 10, so anything is possible.

I wonder WTH is wrong with the Bears for giving up multiple draft picks to trade up 1 spot to a team that most likely wasn't going to pick trubisky.

Meanwhile the seahawks moved down 7 spots but add multiple picks in the early rounds.

It's come out that the Browns and Chiefs both were trying to trade up for Trubisky.

And as far as the pick goes, if Mitchell is good, they really don't matter. At all.
