I think the Bears got bamboozled by the 49ers on this one. the 9ers somehow made them think they were going to take Tribusky. The way I see it if they intended to take him they wouldn't have accepted this trade so I think the Bears could have stood pat at 3 and gotten him.

My Cowboys have had a pretty solid draft
[doublepost=1493436126][/doublepost]
i've yet to see, or hear, anyone say it was a good move.
Value wise, it's a wash. Two teams were in a bidding war with the Bears and it only cost the Bears a third and later round draft position to move up one spot. It's neither bad nor good as Chicago needed a long term solution at quarterback.

Then they drafted that kid from ... where the heck was that little college?

I'm sure more people in the league would rather play for Pete Carroll than any other coach other than Bill Belechik. Plus would have to fire Dan Quinn because he didn't run the ball last year which would have sealed the game.

Seahawks Hall of Famer Cortez Kennedy died at the age of 48.

The Seahawks released a statement on Cortez Kennedy's death, which read in part: "Cortez Kennedy has been a pillar of the Seahawks franchise since joining the team as a rookie in 1990. Tez was the heart and soul of the Seahawks through the 1990s and endeared himself to 12s all across the Pacific Northwest as a player who played with a selfless and relentless approach to the game."

Very sad.... Just went to the Seahawks twitter page. Lots of comments and lots of pictures of him. Way to young.

Ya he was a treasure in Seattle.

In other news Colin Kaepernick is visiting Seattle today.

If he accepts 2nd string and less money he could be Wilson's backup this season.

A good thing in my opinion.
Hopefully he cuts the crap with his political statements, nobody need a 2nd string distraction. Although he's most likely going to be the best backup In the behind jimmy gorapallo(?).

I dont think the hippies and hipsters in Seattle care whether he stands or sits, they might not even know who's in office... Perfect landing spot for him.

Many conservative cities who root for the seahawks. The subburbs of seattle are pretty mixed. All the farming cities in washington are conservative. Alaska. Idaho. Parts of Oregon. Me.

ESPN article regarding Richard Sherman - seems believable. I think Sherman's personality, and intensity are such that it works against Carroll's laid back approach. What seems to be almost like clockwork is that the Seahawks start of slow, losing the first few games of the season, reports of schisms in the locker room start being published and then they start winning some games.

I don't know if they'll be back to the level that got them to the superbowl this year, but if they don't, I think the fractions in the locker room will only make matters worse.

Seems believable, Russell wilson isn't even bad though, he just needs a good oline.

Interesting :

"Spike Lee posted a congratulations message to Colin Kaepernick for signing with the Seahawks on Instagram, but he has since taken it down. Per a source, Kaepernick has not signed with the Seahawks. He visited with the team this week and left town without a deal."

Too soon ? Announcement coming Monday ?

Food for thought.

Do you think Atlanta has moved on from its SB loss? I'm not trying rub dirt in their wound (being a pats fan), but its an honest question. Recently we've heard remarks from people like Matt Ryan saying its behind them. I mean it seems the way various folks talk, its almost like they're trying to convince themselves.

Then you have Freeman who is quoted as saying (full story):
I hate to go there but I was supposed to be the MVP this year of the Super Bowl, but it’s all good, we got another shot. . . . I don’t want to make this no competition thing with me and my quarterback. I’m just talking about from based off that game. Let’s [say] it like this: if I would have kept getting the ball, if I would have stayed in the game, I don’t know why I got out of the game actually. But if I would have stayed in the game, I would have got MVP. I’m looking at my stats and I see my numbers didn’t lie. Look at my numbers.

It was such a devastating loss, I can't help but think, regardless of what they say that loss still must be resonating within them.

They could say all the right things in front of the cameras but they are human and its not that easy to get over something like that. I'm sure Falcons fans are not over it and the players sure as heck are not either..... But that's not necessarily a bad thing, that could fuel them and make them angry enough to play lights out this season in order to redeem themselves.... Or it can affect them negatively and they could try to do too much and falter.... We won't know until the season is under way... But I could assure you its in the back of their minds.

I live in the metro area, so I know a lot of falcons fans. The overwhelming sentiment is that people just don't want to talk about it. At all. The loss was pretty traumatic and I think a lot of people would rather look forward to next season, but I wouldn't say that the fans have "gotten over it" for the most part.

I don't know how much of that sentiment maps onto the organization, but for what it's worth, Quinn was a guest on one of the ESPN talk shows maybe a month ago and he seemed like he had completely processed it. He candidly talked about the game openly and was cool and analytical. If the players take their cues from him, I think the falcons will be just fine.

Come on. Pete isn't that bad.

i think he's a pretty decent coach.
he made that pass call in the SB because everyone knew they were going to Lynch. he tried to catch them off guard. oops. didn't work, oh well. should he have run the ball? probably. but more importantly he's gotten to the SB how may times now? 3? 4? how many times, as a head coach, has rex ryan (or any others for that matter) taken a team to the pinnacle?

he's a fine coach. a little shady on the college end of it but they all are aren't they? the answer is yes, they all are.
