I told my son, yesterday as I was driving him to school, that the Chiefs would beat the Patriots. He looked at me like I had just grown a horn out of the center of my head. Got some payback this morning!

So, the real questions from the game are:

1. Is age finally catching up to Brady?
2. Is Hunt the real deal?
3. Are the Chiefs going to be a real contender this season?
4. How serious are the injuries to Berry and Amandola?

And did Alex Smith suddenly turn into Aaron Rodgers overnight

The Patriots defense sucks. I do think Brady is slowing down but last night was a whole team collapse. Next up for the Patriots is New Orleans where many thought they would lose. So will the Pats be 0-2?

If the game is in NO they very well could, if Alex Smith hung 42 on them imagine what Drew Brees could do in the dome.

Especially since they did that whole bit about 28-3 in their little corny, awkward pre-game celebration

A judge has granted Ezekiel Elliot a temporary restraining order to halt his 6 game suspension.

Federal judge Amos Mazzant on Friday granted a request by the NFL Players Association for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction to prevent the implementation of a six-game suspension for Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott.

I think this is great. Elliott in my opinion did not get a fair hearing from the NFL.

Columbus authorities did not pursue charges against Elliott, but the league's personal conduct policy has a lower burden of proof threshold than a criminal conviction. Goodell worked with a four-person advisory committee to determine whether Elliott deserved to be punished. However, it was revealed during the appeal process that Kia Roberts, the NFL's lead investigator, had issues with Thompson's credibility and would not have recommended discipline for Elliott based on what she found.

"The question before the Court is merely whether Elliott received a fundamentally fair hearing before the arbitrator. The answer is he did not," Mazzant wrote in his ruling Friday. "The Court finds, based upon the injunction standard, that Elliott was denied a fundamentally fair hearing by Henderson's refusal to allow Thompson and Goodell to testify at the arbitration hearing."

Mazzant also wrote that "the NFL's breach of the [collective bargaining agreement] is only compounded by Henderson's breach of the CBA. Specifically, Henderson denied access to certain procedural requirements, which were necessary to be able to present all relevant evidence at the hearing."

He will lose in court, the nfl has the power to do what it's doing thanks to the cba.

But everyone that drafted Elliot got lucky for the year.

A bit disappointed in the seahawks game. Could have been much different with good officiating or a good offensive line.

The seahawks defense was also great before they got tired and jermey lane ejected for no reason.

Not surprising, they seem to drop the first 3 or 4 games. Reports of bickering and losing the locker room will emanate and then they'll turn it around.

They're in a weak division, so they could still drop 6 or 8 games and still win a playoff spot.

1. That's the hot take du jour after all of 1 game, but I think it mostly he was out of synch with some of the new players and Eric Berry did a fantastic job of taking Gronk out of the game.
2. Again, it's been only 1 game, but there's no reason to think he's not. He was by far the difference-maker in that game.
3. They were a real contender last season, so why wouldn't they be? Everyone acts like there was no way KC could win that game. They were 12-4 last year in the AFC West.
4. Unfortunately Berry is out for the season, which really sucks. He's that good. Amendola is still up the air; there's been no real news but it's clear he's in the concussion protocol. With 10 days between games we'll see if he's able to recover.

As maflynn said, I'm glad the 16-0 talk died an early death. It was silly to begin with and could have been a distraction. Personally, I don't care if they go 10-6, so long as they win a game in February. New England has never been a great team in September, so I'm not buying into all of the hype even if they lose in New Orleans. That being said, there's clearly a lot of work to be done.

I usually do not side with the accused in these cases, but this specific case a an egregious overreach.

Zeke absolutely got railroaded. But hey, that's what everyone cheered for when CA2 ruled Goodell can do whatever he wants last summer.

That Beasley catch was fun to watch in the Cowboy game last night. It's also neat to see Witten get the reception record for the team.

The head of officials already said it was a bad call.

As bad as the Seahawks Offensive ( very ) line.

Yup, can't believe we kept Green Bay to 0 points in the 1st half and lost the game.
If the oline doesn't get fixed, another early playoffs exit.

I know its early, with only one week under our belt, but what's your best guess (or guesses) on which coach is on the hot seat?

My picks
Marvin Lewis, the Bengals looked horrible and seem to be getting worse not better
Bill O'Brien, For being a QB coaching wizz, he's failed dramatically and spectacularly whether signing Osweiler, or any of the other rejects
Chuck Pagano - not sure how he's lasted this long with a team that has so under-performed.

Personally I think Pete Carroll needs to be on the hot seat. Or Seattle's Offensive line coach.

and get rid of Lacy while you're at it. He's useless.

I agree, trade/get rid of Eddie lacy and fire Tom cable. Possibly get rid of derral bevell, Idk what he's thinking calling a run on 2nd and 17 when the run games been bad the whole game. I would let Pete stay while this core group is still together, firing him could result in many requesting trades and making the seahawks a non playoff team.

they keep up what they did Sunday and there won't be much left to the team to even make the playoffs.

Yes. If Russell wilson gets hurt because of the basically non existent oline, the team misses the playoffs and the teams likely goes downhill from there.

The seahawks got 3 weeks to figure out the oline if they don't want to lose to the rams... again.
