We should have leaked specs of the same-looking X by next spring. As someone posted earlier, same old song every year.
Wash, rinse, repeat. *yawn*
Next year should have additional ways to unlock iphone. It will be Fart ID, iphone will only open with your unique fart. Chances of someone to unlock your iphone will be now 1: 47682750. It will more secure than Face ID. Only draw back would be what if fart is not coming out but for which apple recommend to eat lot of beans which will resolve the problem for most. Night Shift will get improved plus Day Shift will be introduced. 2 new colors will also be introduced Rose Yellow and Sunflower Pink. Battery will improve significantly. As the name shows Apple Pay, Apple will Pay for all your Starbucks coffees unless you don’t add extra sugar. It will be a huge upgrade from current but they will keep the prices same which is plus considering so many additional features.
Actually, if the price becomes $699 base price, I don't mind. Having a phone that costs $1k last year for $300 less (and now faster) seems like a decent deal.A12 chips

Well, Fart ID would tend to discourage theft. Who wants a smelly-ass iPhone?

I think if the X sells well at $999 we won’t see another flagship at $799
Guess the 2018 lineup
Ming Chi Kuo already has: https://www.macrumors.com/2017/11/13/kuo-three-new-iphones-2018/
Not everything Ming says usually happens. See: TouchID under display
Nobody is 100% perfect, but he's got the best inside sources and track record on predictions of anyone out there.

I don't know if Ming has a track record divining the "names" Apple chooses to use on newer phones. AFAIK she only takes guesses at the physical case and externally sourced modules (sensors, cameras etc.)
I ain't arguing otherwise. I'm just saying he is usually right, not absolutely right. So that line up you posted may not happen.
Perfect, except bigger X will be Xs Plus.iPhone X Plus (larger OLED iPhone) - $1149
iPhone Xs (updated iPhone X) - $999
iPhone 9 (edge to edge, 6.1" LCD Phone) - $699
iPhone 8 (no update) - $599
iPhone 7 (no update) - $499
iPhone SE2 (updated internals) - $449
