I’d much rather Apple work on getting rid of the camera bump instead of adding another lens.

I'm fine with the bump. And don't even notice it.

What's important to me as a photographer are camera features and performance. I'll take a superior camera over a bump on the back any day.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what Apple releases this year. And if the camera is substantially better will purchase the phone.

Though difficult to appreciate such designs, the problem for Apple is more to do with its pricing by many hundred bucks higher than what people would like to spend. They can do whatever their design team feels it appropriate like Notch in X, Camera bump in 7+ etc...

Hopefully they work on the improving the nighttime performance of the phone. Daytime and video performance is great, but the nighttime performance of the galaxy line and pixel make me envious.

The cameras are already good enough just make the phone a better over all value. Increase the thickness of the phone slightly to get rid of the wobbly bump and improve battery capacity. Sell it for $150 less than this years.

if you put a case on (like almost everyone) then there is no camera bump

You shouldn't need an accessory to address a design issue. I use a case because of the bump (didn't when cameras were flush), but would much rather have a thicker phone with a better battery.
