It's still under investigation & too late for a grid penalty now. The commentators think he'll have to visit the stewards after the race, like Leclerc has to for a similar incident.

On one hand, you'd think Mercedes know the rules and wouldn't tell him it was OK. But on the other, why would the stewards investigate it if there wasn't something wrong.

Lewis isn't building a big enough lead, in fact Bottas is catching him. A win looks unlikely, race far from over.

Albon.... WTF is going on with him , 2nd best car , and he always fights the midfield ...... what a bad season by him.
Also Seb is years behind LEC pace in this race , while Sergio is killing it , why would AM get Seb over Sergio is crazy.

Even without a penalty, looks like the different tyre strategy decided this race. No optimism needed, just logic.

Plus Lewis is now just 2 penalty points away from a race ban. And given the mistakes Mercedes has made, that's a real possibility.

Congratulations to Bottas. Another great drive by Max as well.
10 points on Hamilton’s Super License. 2 more and a one race suspension.
Penalties in 2 of the last 3 races.

Time to refocus Lewis. Give the politics a rest. ;)

Confused. Why was Lewis not allowed to merely race, and then add the 10 seconds on, at the END of the race?
I thought, one only had to do a pitstop penalty, for a 'stop no go' penalty...

It's in the rules that if you're issued a time penalty before you've pitted, you have to do it when you pit.

Otherwise, it gets added on at the end.

Yeah I expect Gasly will be back at RBR next season.

As for Aston Martin, I imagine they're hoping having Seb in the team will bring in more sponsors or get the existing sponsors to ante up more cash. I also expect Seb is bringing in significantly more person sponsorship money.

Anyone know of a 'decent' link for F1 rules? Thanks

Wow, so, Lewis could have fought for his 91st win after all.

Stupid penalties. Not just the 2 for Lewis which if he practiced starts outside of the designated area is fair enough, but then add points to his license? I don’t get it. How does he have more points than Grojeon or Vettel who seem to make mistakes (and dangerous ones) much more often?

Then we have the ridiculous turn 2 sleeping policemen issues. Far too tight to make that chicane.

Bottas did a solid job today. But with a 10 second penalty for Lewis, he didn’t need to do much to win it.

Well I think that’s sensible.

Note that there are local track directions each week too which will not be listed. Like the ridiculous track limits maze thing if you run wide and over the kerbs at one corner this weekend
Agree. It was stupid.

No. The time penalty stands. Just the points on his license will not.

I got the impression he meant if he had the points rescinded, he shouldn't have got a timed penalty in the first place. I still think Bottas would have won regardless.

I see Mick Schumacher won again today. He'll almost certainly be in F1 next season. Partnering Kimi at Alfa?
