Ironic that it's coming via UPS and I work at FedEx.
UPS sat on mine for 6 days at Tamworth. Now I have it and it's beyond expectation. Lovely screen, fast, quiet, great speakers. The keyboard is noisy but that's just amusing. I opted for space gray because my wife has the MBA in silver. The i5 quad core is nippy and very fast in comparison to the 2015 MBA is was using.

If yours is snappy compared to your 2015 model, it's going to absolutely KILL compared to my 2010 MBA. I was going to donate my 2010 to a student friend of mine when my new i5/16/512 arrives, but I just bought her a Dell instead. She's a Windows girl at heart anyway and if I gave her this old Mac, I become the tech support guy. Guess I'll hang onto my legacy MBA for somebody else.

It's supposed to arrive tomorrow... Is it still in Hong Kong?? UPS get your tracking together!

most likely your computer is just now able to leave Hong Kong, there are probably not many steps between "your parcel was released by the customs agency" and delivery to your address. UPS might still be able to deliver it tomorrow or Saturday.

I think I have to pay extra for saturday shipping...

Is Apple Care+ worth it for $229 USD for the MBA 2020? I am leaning towards it. I got it on my last MBP 2015 and it saved me quite a bit in repairs.

It's an insurance policy.

So it's worth it if you use it, a waste of money if you don't.

FYI - if you can buy it from a campus store it may be even less expensive than via Apple's EDU website. I paid $183 for AC+ when I ordered my 2020 MBA from my college's campus store (they sell to alumni).

I'll speak to my university since I haven't started school yet. Also didn't buy it through them either. Thanks.

Always worth having a conversation. I'd imagine they'd sell to a incoming student. Can't say whether they can do the AC+ separate but doesn't hurt to ask.

Let's see. If not, I'll try to coax out the discount from Apple since it's a $20 difference, so every little bit helps.

Turns out they don't because you have to buy the MacBook from them. Next step, gotta figure out if the credit card company allows me to extend a warranty with a purchase of just the extended AppleCare+ alone.

Does anyone know if a credit card company would extend the AppleCare warranty for purchasing one using their card?

you probably don't have to pay extra simply because it already paid for by Apple, if UPS can't deliver on Saturday the worst-case scenario that i can think of is that you get your mac on Monday
At FedEx we do Home Delivery on Saturday AND Sunday now. No Ground on Saturday/Sunday, but we're open for Home Delivery and you can pick up your package at a FedEx facility if we can't deliver.

Nope, still sitting there. My delivery date on UPS is Tuesday, May 19th. Once I saw it leave Hong Kong, I was sure it would be in ahead of schedule. Now I am not so sure.
I've got the same delivery date from UPS and I thought the same thing when the box was in HK, but it doesn't look like the UPS flies too frequently out of Taiwan. Interesting that the packages ended up there - In the orders I've had from Apple direct from China they've never routed through Taiwan.

Just updated to show that it has moved out of Taiwan!
