If/when Apple gets their NFL contract, I hope they do a better job than Amazon keeping their streams up. The former was still having issues with picture quality last night.

Going forward, it will be interesting to see what SF does with their QB situation. Purdy hasn't been asked to do a lot, but at the same time, hasn't been shackled like a 3rd string QB would either, just handing the ball off; he plays with poise and command, and looks like he belongs. His experience as a four-year starter, in some big games, shows, and that's something that Lance didn't have.

He'll stumble at some point, and whatever weaknesses caused his fall to being a late round pick will be exploited by some team, but how he responds to that will speak loudly. I don't think the people in SF's front office are the type to harbor regrets, or let that prevent them from doing what they think is best now, and for the future. If Lance doesn't set them alight when he returns, I don't think they'd hesitate to switch gears, nor let his heavy sunk cost weigh them down like an anchor.

Even if Purdy turns out to be a one-hit wonder, and the team rides that defense to glory., I think they'll happily take that. Ask the Rams.

Doesn't look like its going to happen I will say I'm really surprised, but given Amazon's poor performance and the price tag that the NFL was pushing for, I can why they would want to step out. Apple has a very good sense of focusing on profitability. I'm just speculating, but I can see Apple having concerns, as the price tag was going higher and how Amazon was struggling. While I don't think Apple would incur the same struggles, something did push them out of the game

Report: Apple bows out of Sunday Ticket talks, leaving Amazon and Google as the finalists

The company once regarded as the frontrunner for NFL Sunday Ticket has opted to take a Sunday drive, instead.

Buried in an item on Puck.news from Dylan Byer and Julia Alexander regarding recent changes at the top of Disney is an NFL bombshell: Apple has bowed out of the bidding for the out-of-market package the DirecTV will relinquish in only 23 days.

Wilson is out, for Sunday's game - I think it would be funny if the offense suddenly woke up and they won the game - talk about adding fuel to the fire of over paying for him :p

As a RAIDER fan I can only hope that McDaniels has been seeking the advice of his former mentor coach Belichick...
When he backed out of the Indy job, there was an agreement between him and BB, where Belichick would show him more of the ropes of what it takes to be a head coach. I guess, unlike Bill Parcells, who taught all of his coaches how to be a HC, BB largely didn't, which is why Belichick's coaching tree has probably the worst record amongst super bowl winning coaches. All that being said, I think the die is cast for McDaniels, and unless we see a miraculous turn around in 2023, he's going to be going down as a very bad HC.

Agreed.

I guess we're stuck with him for at least one more season...?

Maybe he can turn it around. He's got to get the team on board and get a winning culture put in place.

win by the Vikings
I was shocked as I hit espn from time to time, and saw the score. Imo, the collapse of the colts is almost all on coaching, and it hammers home how you actually need a head coach, and not some ESPN personality that can talk a good game in front of the camera.

What makes it funny, sad, painful (all at once) is that Matt Ryan is the QB for the two most horrific collapses, this record breaking collapse and of course Super Bowl LI. I truly believe Ryan (and the Falcons) were never the same after that historic collapse - not just a following season "hangover" but I think Ryan was never the same

Funny anecdote regarding Super Bowl LI

Robert Kraft put in references of 28-3 in the SB ring, and that pissed off Arthur Blank
The hidden 28-3 reference on the Patriots' Super Bowl ring
Falcons owner on Patriots' 283-diamond Super Bowl ring: 'It kind of pissed me off'

For me, I love the idea of that symbolism - mostly because I live in Boston, but I think its really cool to highlight what as the greatest super bowl comebacks.

Were they on tv?
NFL network - I was unable to watch any of saturday's games simply because I don't have the NFL network - oh well, their loss.

If the Falcons had kept running the ball... sheesh...

No question, had they managed the clock better, the game would have gone the other way. The Pats were the recipients of some lucky plays, like a fortuitous turn over, sacking Ryan and pushing them out of field goal range (this wouldn't have been an issue if they ran the ball).

I truly believe they felt the game was in hand, and out of reach for the pats, but once the Pats got close, you could see the panic in their eyes and the belief in the patriots.

So Matt Ryan has both the biggest comeback losses in both a Superbowl and all-time.

Can't really hold this one against him though. If the defense can't hold a 33 point lead, that's not on the QB.

But some blame has to fall on the offense for not being able to hold the ball long enough near the end of the game to seal it.

Normally don't post in here, but after last night I had to.

GO BILLS!!!!!!! ;)

That was a good game. But when are coaches going to learn to stop chasing points early in the 3rd quarter. Had Miami kicked the PAT after the TD, they probably win 30-28.

Just like every year, the Cowboys messed up against a bad team and knocked themselves out of a chance to do anything good this season.

Jacksonville is a honey trap. My Bills lost to the Jags last year, a loss that cost them a chance at the #1 seed.
