Holy bleep, Raiders "intercepted" a final play lateral, score tied 24-24, and the Raiders took it back for a TD and win 30-24. What was The Hoodie thinking?

Lordy Lordy...

We had another blown lead episode.

Commentators are speculating that the players improvised that move.

I'd have to agree. No way BB said, "Just snap the ball then chuck it around wildly..." *

Stupid win but I'll take it.

What really aggravates me is I bet the team thinks, "Wow! We played great and got the win we deserved!"

* It does seem like something Josh McDaniel might call though... :p

The stupid and mindless loss that the patriots incurred is emblematic of their season. I can't say that I was surprised by the loss, but how and why - yeah. Crazy ending of the game.

Wow, I was looking at the play off standings and chargers have crept up into the 6th spot - they've been flying under the wire and I hadn't noticed them winning. Conversely, the dolphins have hit a rough patch and are on the bubble. They are in danger of getting knocked out of the playoffs. I really don't think the patriots have any real chance, their play for the entire season has been piss poor.

After the jets, there's a log jam of 6 and 8 teams, so its quite possible the final spot is up for grabs by any team.

the NFC seems more consolidated, only two teams Seahawks and Lions have any real chance of sneaking in. The Washington Football, is on the bubble, and truth be told, I don't think they'll make but stranger things have happened.

I have a recurring nightmare that all four teams from the NFC East make it in... lol

Don't fall asleep on the Lions !!

At first glance it looks like few teams could finish 10 - 7 and still not make it in!

This was one of the best weekends in NFL history. I'd like to know how did the Colts blow that 33-0 lead, the Dolphins actually being competitive in the loss to the Bills given that cold weather, the Cowboys' inexplicable overtime loss, and the crazy ending where the Raiders won.

I'll take that accidental win vs the Pats... Also, we are never on TV around here anymore.

Back in the day we were almost always on.

And I seem to remember CBS and NBC showing 2 games a day. Not anymore though...

Looking forward to the Dec. 24th game vs the Steelers... but not the constant replay of the "Immaculate INCOMPLETION".

RAIDERS are still in the hunt in the 11 spot with a 6 - 8 record.
Its going to be a tough road to hoe. They're on the cusp of being mathematically eliminated. Their remaining schedule is Pitt,SF, KC. Winning in Pittsburgh is going to be tough, but do able. The other two will be a lot harder.

Here's the schedule for the teams above them and my guesses to what will happen
Mia: GB, NE, NYJ: They should win 2 out of the 3 and end with a 10-7 record
NE: Cincy, Mia, Buff: They'll probably lose all 3 and end up with a 7 - 10 record
NYJ: Jack, Sea, Mia: Maybe 1 win and end up with a 8 - 9 record
Jack: NYJ Hou, Tenn: Another single win out of the three: 7 - 10

The best the raiders can do is 9 - 8 and the these teams play each other, so you need all of them to basically lose but when Mia plays NE and the NYJ, that's not really helping you too much

Oh yeah. I don't have any hopes for the post season and frankly we don't deserve* to be there.

* I know whence I speak - This past spring the team that won the championship in the soccer league I play in(11v11 and only 4 teams, plus a two round playoff for the title) won 2 games. They beat us, we had the best record going into the playoffs, in the first round. Then they won the title game the following week. So forgive me if I call BS on any sub .500 team getting in... lol But I digress...

Now that I see that remaining schedule I realize that really the only winnable game left for us is the PIT game. :(

@maflynn - Did you go for your run yesterday? I'm going for mine in about an hour ... indoors though so...

I run nearly every day. Yesterday was a short run - 2 miles. The wind by the beach and boston harbor is just crazy. I've been fighting this wind for about week straight. I hit the gym this morning, and I hope to do a better run today, but the forecast is working against me.

The wind off the ocean can be strong, but its also cold.

And I really, really want them to. Would love to see PIT finish below .500. And to have that be at the hands of the Raiders, especially with the media hyping the 50th anniversary of the Immaculate Reception game would be especially sweet.

Not a fan of 17 games. Either go back to 16 or up to 18. Something about the odd number of games is just wrong.

One a side note, last night's game was just boring to watch.

I'm sure 18 is part of Goodell plan, as the owners are playing the long game in marching towards a longer season

I hate odd numbered games, like 17. Make it 16 or 18. While I would love as many NFL games as possible, I have to admit that 16 was nice - 6 games against division, 4 games against rotating divisions in the other conference, the rest against your own conference, based on record. Nice and orderly. That rogue 17th game just seems...odd.

18 games broken down as such:

6 vs Division - easy

8 vs 2 rotating divisions in your conference. So you would play every team in your conference 2x every 3 years.

4 vs rotating division in other conference. So you would play every team in the other conference 1x every 3 years.

Similar to what you posted, except nothing based on record. Too hard to determine how good a team will be based on previous year's record. Looks at the Rams & Packers & Titans. The SB winner won't make the playoffs, a #1 Seed probably won't and the other #1 Seed might not.

And do away with the Exhibition games. They can call them Pre-Season all they want. They are Exhibition games.

That is sad news. He was a great running back.
I'm old, and my mother was a steelers fan, so we saw them often in their heyday. I have a completely different perspective of Bradshaw today, he's a funny guy and enjoyable to watch, but when I was watching him as a QB in the 70s, he came off as a bit of a jerk

Report: YouTube to pay $2.5 billion per year for Sunday Ticket

As reported last night by multiple outlets, and as PFT has confirmed, YouTube is closing in on a deal for Sunday Ticket, the out-of-market package that DirecTV has exclusively broadcast since 1994, when it debuted. John Ourand of Sports Business Journal reports that YouTube will pay $2.5 billion per year for the package.

Compare that with what DirecTV was paying (thanks to google) and you can see quite a jump in the price

Have to love the NFL.

Apple: "We'll give you more than $2.5 billion/year but we want all of our subscribers to get NFL Sunday Ticket without a price increase."

NFL: "No we want less money and a less consumer friendly product."

Youtube: "Sounds great, we are in. We'll make even more money by spying on our customers!"

Apple: "WTF?"
