So two money-printing Goliaths didn't see eye-to-eye on how they could make even more money together, and stepped away.

NFL doesn't care. It sees ST as a premium product, not part of a bundle, doesn't want to hurt that perception, and it will still get paid, by YT and the audience.

For Apple, whether the acquisition cost of each new ATV+ subscriber it would have brought in may have been palatable under certain circumstances, but not all, so it could also afford to walk away. The economic climate affects everyone, even Apple, and there are signs that while it might not be cutting to the same extent as others, it's entering a more conservative pattern.

Wild weekend. The ending to the Raiders game was one of the funniest things I've seen all year.

Can Mac Jones play the trombone? At least that guy can claim to be blindsided, and not just fold like a cheap suit.

I stumbled upon some chatter regarding Belichick - I wonder if he'll retire at the end of the season. I guess some talking heads have postulated this since the summer but some of the chatter is increasing given the extremely poor play and the fact that the man is 69 years old

If I were a betting man, I'd say he won't, but I do think Kraft ought to push him to the door, but I think Kraft is loyal and given what Belichick accomplished he's not about to fire him

I mean, the guy did bring him six championships... If he does go, he will be one of those coaches that will be remembered for everything he has done, but I think he will be remembered more for all of the controversy's and "dirty coaching" he was accused of and or admitted to doing.

if you think about he's a Baby Boomer that's worked sense he was 14! if he stops he probably will die in less then a year! When I worked as Defense Contractor boss and I saw that in any program level we were involved into! The Baby Boomers are all Korean or Vietnam War vets and they work until the die!

I'll always remember the Hoodie for cursing the Browns with 3 decades of QB hell. The Breveland Clowns never recovered from the cutting of, IMO the 2nd best QB in franchise history, Bernie Kosar.

Interesting, I will say that I have more faith in youtube to deliver a quality product then Amazon. I've heard all sorts of horror stories with Amazon's handling of thursday night football.

I have not had any issues, but like you have heard about people having issues.

I can't really put my finger on exactly why, but it is different. Almost like watching a college game on CBS or ABC vs on an RSN. Just something about the delivery is off.

But should have an exciting game tonight.

I wonder if you need to subscribe to all of Youtube TV, or can you just buy access to Sunday Ticket.

Supposedly it will be on Youtube Primetime also so you can purchase it standalone.

Costs are rumored to be similar to what DirecTV was charging which is in the $300/400 range depending on which tier you get.

I wouldn't be *completely* shocked if TB12 and Belichick reunited for one last dance.

I don't think so, because those conversations have largely died down. I'm not defending or justifying his actions, but rather I think overall that sort of stuff is largely ignored.

How many people talk about Big Ben's sexual assaults or Ray Lewis and that double murder. Sean Peyton and the bounty scandal?

That's the thing that supposedly torpedoed Apple's attempt. They were going to make it part of the general package, and the NFL didn't want that.

The Hoodie has nothing left to prove. And he isn't close to another Super Bowl. Time to hang it up and enjoy life.
I don't disagree at all - for either of them - but I'm just saying I'm won't be shocked if it happens. The NFL loves their storylines.

As a Colts fan I hope it doesn't. Brady gave the Colts so many problems for so many years. It's funny, as soon as Brady left the Patriots for the Bucs I found myself rooting for him.

I'm a Bills fan terrorized by Brady for 20 years. I am physically incapable fo rooting for him, no matter where he goes.

I think the difference is Apple just wanted to make it available to anyone with Apple +. Google is going to charge an add-on no matter if you sub to Youtube TV or purchase it standalone.

Here's the issue as I see it. The patriots are in a really tough spot. They're not so bad that they'll get a good draft pick, but not so good that they're only missing a piece or two to make a run for the super bowl. I just don't know if he has it in him to start a rebuild at his age.

We talk about athletes not knowing when to hang it up, well that extends to coaches. When Steve Mariucci got into coaching another coach (I forget who) said this about head coaches. They have an expiration date and when that comes, you're done. That's so true, its not because they suddenly get bad, or lose touch, its just that their time is up. I think for BB, his time is up.

Yep, that's exactly what it was, sorry if I didn't convey that accurately. So while Apple may have offered more $$ (I'm not sure if they did), NFL wanted a paid tier so people would opt in. Something to do with not pissing off the networks who paid so much money for the tv rights. They felt it would undermine their broadcasts if it was freely available to all subscribers of that service

Again, to being up my Bills, they were in that spot for a decade - too good to have a good draft position, too bad to make the playoffs. A decade or two of 6-10, 7-9, 8-8 left us with no playoffs.

In a weird similarity, what is being whispered about Bill Belichick was said about Marv Levy - he's too old, the game has passed him on. I don't think the game passed on BB, in that he's no longer able to coach, but rather he hit his expiration date. I don't think he can orchestrate a new team building process, but who would they get to replace him? Anyone who the hired will be directly compared to BB and any loses or struggles will only shine that spot light even brighter.

Hope separate, but they will probably "include" with a BTW Prices are going up announcement to soon follow :(

From what I can gather from the reporting, which is all over the place, it will be available as a standalone.

So probably 2 different prices, one for subs, one for non-subs which will be higher.

For some reason he is such a polarizing person and he coaches such a polarizing team.

But, I have a feeling you are right...
