From what I can gather from the reporting, which is all over the place, it will be available as a standalone.

So probably 2 different prices, one for subs, one for non-subs which will be higher.

I haven't watched normal football (when not a national game) for years, it's always been red zone. And yet another streaming service to have to buy. This is ridiculous.

Cutting the cord is getting more and more expensive. Greed, once again, kills a good rthing.

So I don't want Thursday night football - thanks to amazon prime video.

Anyways I see that the jets not only fall to Jags in a crushing defeat of 19-3 AND they bench Wilson. This was his best chance to reclaim his job as starting QB. I think overall that's probably gone for the rest of the season and if healthy Mike White will be the starter for the remaining games.

As a Pats fan, I probably could start laughing, or throwing stones, but the saying people who live in glass houses applies and all I can say is misery loves company - welcome to club Jets fans :)

here's my question - Is the seat under Robert Saleh getting warm? I mean his record stands at 11-21, he's part of the organization that drafted Zach Wilson and so far he's been a bust.

I don't think he'll get fired this season, but I have to expect that if the Jets don't turn things around in 2023, he'll be gone then.

I wonder if you need to subscribe to all of Youtube TV, or can you just buy access to Sunday Ticket.
Well, if they continue to rebroadcast games on the NFL Network, then, for me, the answer is no to the first part of your question. I don't watch any sporting event live. Night games end too late, so I'll watch what I'm interested in the next day. It's usually not difficult to avoid finding out which team won before I'm ready to watch the game.

He was horrible. No surprise he got benched. The guy they brought in was fun to watch, but more like a less talented Taysom Hill. He skipped too many throws at the feet of open receivers.

Yeah, I think they're waiting on Mike White - the team seems to really respond to him

Not even close to warm. The Jets are 7-7, exceeding expectations, and they have a top 5 defense (from the worst last year). Zack was a bust, but Sauce Gardner is a pro bowl rookie and Garrett Wilson is 1000 yard rookie receiver.

2021 QB draft class -- Lawrence, Wilson, Fields, Lance, Jones. Feel free to fill in the others.

Lance gets an incomplete, but who hasn't stepped in it at some point, or can claim to have set the world alight?

As a guy from the defensive side of the ball, I don't think Saleh deserves the hit for their offensive troubles. That rests with the OC, LaFleur, which is disappointing, given his pedigree.

If the Jets' owners get restless, and flick Saleh, he can take solace in the path that another former DC, and former Jets HC, took.

Some guy named Pete Carroll, who was canned in favor of Rich Kotite. Rich Kotite. Hindsight is...and all, but still.

And if Saleh does leave, I'm sure SF would be happy to have him back, to replace their current DC, who is sure to receive a lot of looks for upcoming HC openings.

Actually, Lawrence has been awesome the seocnd half of the season. I think he has one of the beat QBRs during the Jag's hot streak.

2021 QB draft class
Here's my take:

  • No. 1: Trevor Lawrence, Jacksonville Jaguars Grade C+ He's entered into a crappy situation thanks to Meyer but he's not fully lived up to the #1 billing
  • No. 2: Zach Wilson, New York Jets: Grade F Failed in being a leader, and QB
  • No. 3: Trey Lance, San Francisco 49ers: Grade D I believe he was one of the most incomplete QBs give his lack of playing time. He didn't really shine in 2022 before getting hurt
  • No. 11: Justin Fields, Chicago Bears: Grade D: Chicago is the place where QBs go to die.
  • No. 15: Mac Jones, New England Patriots: Grade D, (last year he was a solid B). McDaniels fully leveraged his abilities and diminished his short comings. His deficiencies are on fully exposed in 2022 and the lack of coaching made it worse
  • No. 64: Kyle Trask, Tampa Bay Buccaneers Grade Incomplete with Brady playing
  • No. 66: Kellen Mond, Minnesota Vikings Grade C Low-ish pick in the draft, but failed to really shine when he was on the field.
The idea of starting a QB right from college is most definitely in vogue, but it seems the majority of them are just not ready. The quality of defensive players is so high then what they saw in college, the complexity of offenses that they have to know is staggering and the game is incredibly fast.

If you watch college games, you'll often see the entire offense line up, get ready to snap and then look towards the sidelines for a play or a change of play. QBs in college are not required to think, that's simply not the case in the NFL and I think many QBs entering the pros are not equipped or have little to no experience doing that, i.e., be knowledgeable enough of the offense and defenses.

Here's the issue as I see it. The patriots are in a really tough spot. They're not so bad that they'll get a good draft pick, but not so good that they're only missing a piece or two to make a run for the super bowl. I just don't know if he has it in him to start a rebuild at his age.

We talk about athletes not knowing when to hang it up, well that extends to coaches. When Steve Mariucci got into coaching another coach (I forget who) said this about head coaches. They have an expiration date and when that comes, you're done. That's so true, its not because they suddenly get bad, or lose touch, its just that their time is up. I think for BB, his time is up.

I largely agree. He has been making quite a few suspect decisions. And I think with a new Head Coach they’re also going to look to make changes at OC and QB coach. And that’s even before we start talking about actual players. I think the Patriots are looking at a significant rebuild to get near to challenging for another superbowl.

Really the question is, do they need to tank for a few seasons to improve the draft position? The desire to win seems to be deep seated in Belichick’s dna and the makeup of the team, which is no bad thing, but it does close off one possible avenue to a rebuild. You’d have to get lucky and acquire some players of freakish physical talent at WR or TE in order to make that offense tick.

They don’t want to be in the same position they’re in now for a decade, and that could happen.

I wonder if Kraft is less patient for a rebuild given his age, we talk about BB getting older and making some odd decisions but what about the owner. Its hard to be on top of the mountain for so long and then suddenly within a couple of years have a team that made the worst play in nfl against the raiders.

Winning and success, imho, certainly are cyclical and their cycle has been a long one so hopefully it'll take a downturn for a bit and give us some new teams at the top.

Seriously I'm so tired of seeing that hideous helmet and uniform every weekend that I could puke.

So the Pats game was a tale of two halves. The first half was embarrassing to the point where I thought they should bench Jones. The second half, they mostly redeemed themselves but again, just stupid mistakes at the end of the game doomed them.

Looks like the Jets are preparing to move on from Wilson -I wonder if they're premature, but then I was calling for the benching of Mac Jones
Report: Jets to move on from Zach Wilson after the season

All true. One of the biggest adjustments is to the speed of the pro game. And every player is "NFL-grade," and there are no walk-ons.

But I'd give college QBs, especially those running option offenses, more credit than that. Pro QBs can call their own audibles, but it's still rare for them to call their own plays.

It seems the eventual NFC South champion may have a real chance of finishing with a sub-.500 record, no?

Shouldn't there be some minimum threshold, like a six-win season to be bowl-eligible, to make the playoffs? :p

No, win you division you are in, no minimum number of wins required.

It may seem unfair, but then why have divisions if winning it doesn't matter?

I'm happy that the Bills won. The quest for the first seed is intact. But I was bothered a bit at the end. Rookie RB James Cook (brother of Dalvin) needed one yard to get to 100 and the Bills had the game wrapped up 28-13, with less than a minute left. 4th and goal, and I figured they'd go for it to let Cook try for that 1 yard. And they did go for it, but instead of a run, they fake handoff to Cook and throw it for a TD. Why run up the score and let Cook sit at 99? That bugged me as a classless move by a usually classy team.

Here's the latest AFC playoff standings:
Everyone below the Raiders are eliminated. If Mia wins today, then the raiders are eliminated.

The remaining schedule
MIA: GB, NE, NYJ
NE: Mia, Buff
NYJ: Sea, Mia
Tenn: Dall, Jack
Pitt: Bal, Cle

I think if Mia wins today, it complicates everyone below them, and while division rivals play each other hard, I don't know the state of the Jets and Pats, will they show up, try to be spoilers?

Here's the NFC playoff picture, the NFC seems a bit murkier with a log jam at the bottom

Wsh: Cle, Dal
Sea, NYJ, LA
Det: Chi, GB
GB : Minn, Det
Car: TB, NO
NO: Phil, NO

dang!

I was really hoping the Lions would win yesterday. That is THE one team that needs to make the playoffs just for the fans sake! I realize they're not completely out of contention but it doesn't look good.
