Well, it wasn't a
bad game, especially as far as SBs go.
Goodell claimed last week that the officiating is as good as it has ever been, but there were questionable calls for both teams. But the game disruptions for reviews have become tedious, and hurt the show, despite the good aims they try to achieve. The field condition was obviously causing footing issues.
One thing is for sure, any coach facing the Eagles from here on is asleep if they aren't wise to their hurry-up-and-prevent-a-challenge offense.
Pre-game talk can get tiresome, and is best avoided, but Mahomes came out and backed it up, didn't he? The MVP, with one ring, and in obvious pain after that tackle in the first half, did his thing and got a second ring. He wasn't the one who was stripped and had a fumble run back for a TD, which kept KC in the game before its offense awake. Until Hurts, Allen, Burrow, Herbert, or the rest get theirs, Mahomes will continue to get most of the hype.
Reid's clock management, and just as importantly, heads up play by those on the field snuffed out any chance the Eagles had.
As good as the Eagles were this season, KC edged them in the SB, and thumped SF, the #2 NFC team, in the regular season, so the bragging rights are all theirs.
If there was a prize for Most Insufferable Star TE Personality, I think Kelce just took the crown from Gronk. Save the Disrespected Bitter Meat Head act for the locker room comments, not the post-game big stage where everyone is celebrating.
At least Gronk can be self-effacing, and in on a joke.
Edit -- Eagle's CB has
admitted he held the receiver.
