#20 Texas upsets #9 Vanderbilt This one cuts me to the quick
But was it an upset? I mean, since last season they were making texas out as a national champion contender. I think Texas's talent and strength are not alinged with their ranking. It took some time for Manning to get traction. I don't think he's there yet - he still needs more snaps to get better

On top of that, Vandy played one of their worst games, maybe the pressure was getting to them, this isn't the first time a high ranked team that typically isn't ranked stumbles when its a big game.

#18 OU upsets #14 UT
I like both teams, but I was surprised by this, though I did think it was going to be a close game

UNranked SMU upset #10 Miami
This one didn't surprise me, I think Miami isn't as potent as people make out to be, and they just were not fully prepared maybe they looked past SMU or maybe they went to too many halloween parties the night before but I'm not surprised.

Well.. I kind of agree... I love Vandy but maybe that high of a ranking wasn't fair to them. Texas has been building up... I'll be honest it was one of our first games this season that I didn't hvae a good feeling gong into the game. You're correct, from what little I saw they didn't look that sharp. It wasn't until late in the game that they looked remotely ready to play and then it was in desperation mode.. I do believe, as you stated they weren't ready to handle the pressure.

I'm pretty sure they'll be a completely different team next year as well once the 5th and 6th years seniors(should we call them semipro?) leave, so who knows?

I think they were rightly ranked at 8 but maybe the situation was too overhwhelming, and without prior experience they stumbled. Don't get me wrong, I really wanted to the little guy (Vandy) to win. Gotta love the smaller schools that punch above the weight class.

The wheels are falling off Colorado. I don't think he'll get fired, not this year - he has a 33 million dollar buyout. For a program of that size, I think that pill is too big to swallow. From what I've read, he's relied a lot on transfers so his recruiting isn't there, and those transfers will be gone next year.

Not sure how attractive Colorado will be for young kids getting recruited. From what I've read, he really doesn't recruit kids the traditional way. Instead of him or his staff visiting kids, he expects the kids to go to colorado so Deon will recruit them from his home. He seems to put more emphasis on the portal over recruiting.

There's more talk about him just walking away, his health, the fact that his kids are no longer there. If you look at his history, he coached his kids from day one, he became their high school coach, then Jackson State, and he brought his kids with him to Colorado.

If his heart isn't in recruiting, he was only doing it for his kids, and his health is questionable - maybe he'll walk away?

I said something along these lines at the end of last season. Neon Deon was riding on the coattails of all the publicity he was getting, his son playing for him, etc. When that all died down, he didn't have what it took on his own to be a great coach. I agree that I see him retiring when this reality really hits his ego.

He had Travis Hunter land in his lap when he was at Jackson State. Hunter originally committed to FSU, but changed, and given that he won the heisman trophy, that worked out for him.

Without Hunter, Sanders would not have enjoyed the success in Colorado, which truth be told isn't all that great.

Freeze is out at Auburn, can't say that I'm surprised at this point. I've said this before, the portal is so pivotal to team in 2026, that they need to have a coach in place before the portal window opens up, otherwise, they'll be behind the 8 ball. I wouldn't be surprised to see one or two more coaches let go before the end of the month

That's NIL era... I've recently discovered that universities are paying way too much for head coaches by the way... lol
