I don't think the Pats have arrived yet, but these wins, do show a positive move in the right direction. The Bills/Pats games are always tough, being AFC east rivals they know each other's weaknesses. I also think the Bills walked into the game over confident
I only watched the NFL Summary - but it felt like in the first half the Bills were still playing well above the Pats but were making way too many mistakes, but in the second half Maye really looked solid and made some great and difficult plays.

This is definitely NOT a reflection on how the rest of the season will go, but I definitely think there are things for both teams to take away from this game.

The McDaniel's watch is back on with the Dolphins. Next week, they're facing the Chargers, and I don't expect an upset win. The Browns and Falcons the next two weeks, and I wouldn't be surprised to see them fall to those two teams as well.
Yeah it's bad. Bad vibes, the rookies are slow to develop, Tua has actually been pretty good, but gets zero time, it's just bad. At this point we need at least a new GM, new coach, and probably a new QB. Although I would rather get the new QB in '27 after rebuilding the lines even further. It's really bad right now.

I am secretly hoping that John Harbaugh gets fired and we can poach him.

What in the hell were the Bills wearing anyway?!?!?
I always just assume it is because I'm old and don't get it ... but I just hate all of these 'alternative uniforms' - and not just football, but baseball (Red Sox in YELLOW?!?), basketball and so on. I also tend not to say anything because I liked the Patriots 'red retro' uniforms that took me back to the Grogan era - again reinforcing it might just be a 'me being old' thing!

Nope. It's a "you have good taste and common sense... and very little disposable income" thing... /common sense.

I tend to agree with you. Alt unies and the "city connect" nonsense are mostly ugly and ridiculous.
I do like Boston's "green monster" set though.

I don't know about anyone else, but I about had a heart attack watching the end of last night's game (MNF). I was rooting big time for the Jags and when Lawrence fell down trying to get into the end zone for the win, I thought we were finished...but NO! He gets up and gets in for the TD!

Apologies to any Kansas City fans, but I'm tired of hearing about them and seeing them with a losing record doesn't hurt my feelings any at all.

Agreed, we people seem to be wired in such a that we tire of seeing overly successful people. We prefer to root for the underdog. Smugness/arrogance only accelerates the hatred. KC definitely has been smug these past few years. NY Yankees, are almost always accused of this, and for large portions of the patriots superbowl run, they've been accused of such tendencies (and I think that accusation is warranted).

Joe Flacco to the Bengals.

I had not considered that trade what so ever. I thought the browns trading Shedur was more likely, not a 40 year old QB who didn't seem to have too much left in the tank

Red Sox fans were insufferable during their run. Giants fans probably were considered the same during their run.

But Mike Singletary likes winners!

The throwback uniforms are ok. Dave Kreig's Seahawks and McKay's Bucs. City Connect, eh. But merch money is merch money.

Arizona Cardinals. D'oh!

NBA fans get bent out of shape when teams' star players are given their rest, and don't play in games they've bought tickets to.

But it's gotta be better than the NFL meat grinder, where you not only have to be good, but hope you stay relatively healthy.

What about the non-call on obvious PI against the Chiefs when the Jags were about to score? The Chiefs turned that illegitimate interception into 7 points!

Unexpected but probably the Browns have decided that Flaco's good games are behind him so he's not worth keeping, plus it's better to have him do his playing poorly for a division rival.....and they don't have to pay his salary to sit on the bench.

Of course team management makes mistakes, so maybe they'll regret trading him after he leads the Bengals to a huge victory over the Browns later in the season

Guess when they can't get away with 14+ points due to false starts, it's not going too well.

This was hilarious. Dart and the Ref with a high-five. And yes, this actually happened. Ref had his arm up and Dart just did it. Happened in the 3rd quarter with 7:50 left on the clock.

He should have been ejected from the game for touching the Umpire.🙃 NFL rules are weak compared to MLB rules.😏

I'm surprised the Giants were able to beat them.
But let's face it, they barely managed to beat the Cowboys. They only won against the Chiefs with their false starts. Same for the Rams (refs were advised to watch for false starts - they didn't). I'll give them the Buccs, close though. Broncos beat them and now the Giants. They're not as good as people think. Maybe that's going to change, maybe not.

The second he did it I thought "how can someone be so stupid". I expected him to be ejected or at least a flag with personal foul or unsportsmanlike conduct.

I'm surprised there was no penalty as well but still find it hilarious.

I saw two eagle false starts in the highlights and it seems neither announcer noticed them.... or at least mentioned them.

Hurts is merely a decent passer at best, so it's not going to change as long as he's the QB and IF teams can stop the Eagles from running wild on them. Easier said than done, but apparently some teams are managing to do it to a greater or lesser extent. Limit the damage they do on the ground and the amount of times they can utilize the tush-push, and force them to throw more than they're comfortable with -- that's the ticket.

Brown and to lesser extent Smith complaining(rightfully so, IMO) about their involvement on offense probably compelled Hurts to sling a little more than originally planned, but look what the result was. Hurts is a powerful runner but just an okay passer, and if the Eagles' run-heavy game plan works in their favor they're hard to beat, but if it doesn't then they're just a run-of-the-mill "good" team. Certainly not elite.

The main problem is Saquon had a bazillion touches last year and just isn't the same. That coupled with the OL injuries and the Eagles aren't unbeatable anymore. Well, at least so far.
