Steelers backing into the playoffs again.
Way to cover the punter.
Painful watching that last offensive series, but the D held after kicking the ball back.

Lots of sports talk chastising Reid on the air this morning. In a 10-10 game, where the Texans O can't move the ball and a FG might win the game, giving it to them in FG range.

I really feel bad for Daniel Jones, he was having a great year and boom, its all over.
All the discussion on the Colts is what is ownership going to do.

They traded 2 1st round picks to go for it this year. So if they want to go in another QB direction, their choices are limited. Anthony "Quitter" Richardson appears to be a basket case. I heard on the radio that he is on IR, because of an orbital fracture due to a mishap with an exercise band. Seriously?

Jim Irsay died in May, I wasn't aware of that. Anyways, his daughters are supposed to be less impulsive.

The coach and GM were on the hot seat, until the Colts took off. Now the Colts have melted down over the last month and Jones in on a 1 year deal.

The playoff race is tightening up (only the top 7 get in)

In the AFC:
I don't see the colts recovering from losing Jones, Ravens are unlikely to run the table, and I can see KC going 2-2 with the remaining schedule.

In the NFC I can see the Lions making a push for that last playoff spot (I'm unsure the Bears will be able to hold on to that last spot - if they keep wining they're in) both the Panthers and the Cowboys have a real shot of winning their divisions, so its quite possible to see both of them in. That means the Eagles, and Bucs get pushed out.

Dang.

I don't see the Colts getting closer...

I was really pulling for the bears last night. Oh well.

Yep. The worst part is that it was a freak accident; a non-contact injury. Now his future is up in the air. We won't know if the Colts will bring him back next year or not.

Stick a fork in Indy and the Chiefs, they're done. The Ravens still have a chance at winning the AFC North though. Pittsburgh is barely hanging on themselves. Without Indiana Jones, the Colts fall back to earth. Where is Richardson? They played a rookie after Jones' injury. The Chiefs...this play is the epitome of Chiefs' offense yesterday.

Mahomes had little help from the rest of the offense and practically had to do everything himself. The Chiefs pass catchers caught a bad case of alligator arms.😏

Now that's not fair. My team did move the ball...backwards.😫 A total of -2 yards in the 3rd quarter.😨

I agree with Coach Reid going for it on 4th and 1. What I don't agree with was the play calling. They should have just fed the ball to Hunt. The last time they were in a 4th and 1, they fed Hunt the ball and it resulted in 7 points.

Definitely sad to see Jones go out.

It was good to see McCarthy have a successful day after all the negativity. He'll need more to survive.

Certainly things looks easier for the Steelers, but they'll play the Ravens again in the last regular season game. The Ravens three games until then are certainly more of a challenge than the Steelers....but it's possible that both could go 1-2 before they meet again, and that would make for an interesting final game between them.

The Chargers, I suspect they're going to have a hard time holding on to a playoff slot.

Rivers married his junior high school sweetheart, Tiffany, in 2001. They have seven daughters, three sons, and at least one grandchild.

Maybe he just needs to get out the house. Raising ten kids probably made him realize that being steam-rolled by 300 lb. lineman wasn't so bad after all.

So I was wondering why the Eagle have had these issues. Apparently it is the o-line.
That, plus, without a dominant o-line, I think the league has figured out how to stop Hurts, who is a tough runner and solid leader but only average passer. I think that's why he lost his starting job at Alabama to Tagovailoa, whose arm is weaker but is more accurate with a better touch. At this level, because of his limitations as a passer, Hurts can only effectively play one way, his way, and it worked despite being somewhat predictable, as long as he had an elite o-line.

It's why A.J. Brown is so dissatisfied even when he has a statistically good game -- he knows it's not sustainable on an every-game basis because of Hurts' weaknesses as a passer.

If any team deserves this kind of success it certainly is them... /sarcasm
They've had one of the easiest schedules.

These next two weeks will tell tale of the tape, division rivals are always difficult and the Bills are near panicked so to them this will be a playoff game. The Ravens always play the patriots hard, and more often they prevail over the pats, so that won't be a walk in the park, regardless of the raven's record. The Raven's also have an outside chance of making the last wild card spot, so again, for intents and purposes, this will be a playoff game for them

So I listen to ESPN radio in Houston.

John Granato and Lance Zerlein do a morning show. Lance does a lot of voices. For years he did "Coach Slocum on a mobile", when Slocum was the A&M coach and would "call" into the show.

More recently he would do "Philip Rivers on a mobile". He did another one yesterday and a whole bunch of people have no idea it is satire.

So go here: https://www.espn975.com/john-and-lance/ and you can hear the clip.

GO PATS!*
I believe the Bills have made their own bed and seem to have sh*t in it...

What's funny is nearly every article about Rivers has to mention the number of children and/or grandchildren. Seems odd that this is a major element in the news stories when they were talking about him and football.

The dude has so many kids he can field and entire offense. That’s why. It’s not the norm. :D

The Patriots and Ravens have only played each other 16 times with New England holding an 11-5 edge and the post-season tally is split 2-2 so I don't know where this idea that you would think otherwise, and the reason everyone mentions the 10 kids is that Rivers made a (religious) point of his breeding intentions in a number of interviews even before he left football in 2020 to assemble a large family. It's not being used to denigrate him, in fact good for him (and especially his wife!) if he can afford it. But, it's part of the narrative when his name enters the conversation.
