The AFC playoff picture is crystalizing, though only two teams have secured a playoff berth

The NFC looks a bit more set in stone, though it does look like the Lions are fading. Their only saving grace is that the Packers are also fading as well.

Yeah, and Lamar doesn't. He left another game due to injury - the dude gets injured so often.
And on that play rather than trying to extend he looks to be trying to get to the ground ... which I feel like is an fitting analogy for what was an incredibly disappointing season for him and the team. I wonder if it is an off season for him or if we're seeing the end?

That abomination of an OPI call with 22 seconds left on the Lions game-winning TD was ... something.

Interesting fact.

The Cowboys' Super Bowl drought has reached 30 years. Every NFC team has made it to a conference championship game during that span except the Cowboys.

That surprised me, I would think there would be more, like in the AFC, but that list for the AFC isn't as big as I thought.

Browns
Dolphins
Texans

Off season?

I don't think he's a great passer and as he gets older his legs are getting slower. ITs true he's improved as a passer but he has a reputation of folding when it comes to the playoffs.

I will have to look at it again, but when a WR takes out a DB that dramatically (by running into him) its an obvious pick call.

I saw this on facebook

The last 30 years of Jerry's general manager oversight has been down right embarrassing. They have draft picks, so it will be interesting to see how 2026 plays itself out

(sorry to shoot the messenger)

what a bad graphic, did they rip that on FB?
umm 60 years ago the Super Bowl was never even played
so
how could an owner have 30 great years then 30 bad?
specially when He bought the team from Bum Bright in 1989.

some peoples have the pursue to design, but no research desires anymore.

It didn't say Super Bowls. It said NFC Championships.
Its still true.
It might be misleading because Jerry hasn't owned the team that long, but its still true.
OTOH, he and Jimmy got 3 SB trophies, of the franchise's 5, in the first 30 years.

In an effort to shoot the messenger, be sure you know what the message is.

______

Jerry actually admitted fault for their drought

"I'll admit that the Cowboys management has played a role, a big role," Jones said."
______

Breakdown of those numbers

An impressive run up to 1995
Lost CG: 66, 67, 72, 73, 80, 81, 82, 94
Lost SB: 70, 75, 78
Won SB: 71, 77, 92, 93, 95

Post 1995
Lost WC: 98, 99, 03, 06, 21, 23
Lost DG: 96, 07, 09, 14, 16, 18, 22

It obviously wouldn't have been this bad if Jerry had been able to check his ego and Jimmy stayed on for a while.
IMHO, Jimmy came in with in depth knowledge of the players he drafted, and took a bunch of morons to the bank on draft day (Vikings).

I think you're missing the point, its just a humorous picture painting how the first 30 years of the cowboys franchise was largely successful, where as under Jerry's leadership it has failed. The 3 superbowls with Jerry being the owner, were due to having a team built by Jimmy Johnson (Barry Switzer benefited for having such a stocked roster)

Non-Euclidean

My observation is the graphics depicting Jones and the 60 years could have been simplified, or omitted.

these are the NFLs topics I am not seeking
I will go about my business!

On the whole, I have to say this is the most competitive I think both conferences have been in a long time.
Both have recently improved teams challenging the pre-season expected champions.

The AFC is incredible with plenty of divisions still up in the air. The AFC North appears to be the only one settled, more or less. Yeah, Tomlin could still crap the bed, its about 50-50. He has accomplished his goal and NHALS has been achieved (Never Had A Losing Season). AFC East and AFC West have strong teams fighting it out. AFC South has the resurgent Jags (finally for real?) and the Texans whose second biggest opponent in any game is their own offense.

Yeah, a bunch of that is due to Mahomes being out. However, they were limping through the season and were mortal for once.

In the NFC, the North and East are settled. Frankly, it was a ton more competitive a month ago, before the clock struck 12 and the Cowboys turned into a pumpkin. I think the Micah Parsons injury and Love's tendency to have brain freezes and throw really stupid passes at times has doomed the Packers. They might luck into a Wild Card game, but they will be out quickly. The Bears have remained consistent and showed us they are who we thought they were earlier when they dominated the Eagles. The South is still for grabs in a battle as the Panthers and Buccs try to prove who sucks less. The NFC West has 3 strong teams and will most likely be providing the Wild Card teams.

I think they always were a pumpkin, while they had a 3 week winning streak starting at week 11, look at who they beat - the raiders, and KC (having a really bad year). The win against the eagles was a quality win, but that's it what other team did they beat who could be considered good? They only beat bad teams and losing to bad teams

The irony is, there are only bad teams this season. I can't remember the last time I've seen such bad performances by all the teams. Just look at the Broncos all the way up there, Nix is taking so many risks and if it wouldn't be for the other teams defense dropping balls like crazy, he'd throw 5 to 10 interceptions per game. You can replace that with the Patriots, Bears and all the other teams. The Eagles are only there because the refs don't call their constant false starts that allow them to score TDs and win games. NFL told the refs to watch it in week 2 and nothing happened, then they didn't bother anymore.

Results are pretty much random at this point. Interesting? Maybe, because we now see teams in the playoffs we've not seen in a long time. Even the Niniers are still there and they had to play most of the season with injuries. Each game seems to have some awesome plays, but at the same time plays worse than any High School team. Makes the playoffs and SB unpredictable though.

You must be a Lion's fan.
Haha - not remotely. Patriots fans since the Grogan years.

Just seeing these 'off the ball', late game calls in so many recent games rather than a 'let them play' approach I feel is not helping the game.

Look at this video and it shows how the defenders pushed the WR into the other back. Should have been a no-call TD.
