So the Vikings won with only 51 passing yards and 158 yards rushing - what an ugly way to win, but a win is a win. Conversely, what a way to lose the game, especially with 4 fumbles and 2 INTs. The lions looked completely ill prepared on offense - their defense looked great,

As were the Broncos...

Let's get rid of the alt unies NFL...
the helmets were off as the horse logo had a something growing on the crown.
well we all know that extra dollar was made
since the NFLs promoted these hacks on a holiday
specifically reserved for humans to buy each other useless trash.

now how 'bout Dem Broncos!
another one score win, as Nix righted his wrong and learnt
not to lose a game as he tried to in the first 1/2.
Payton wanted to take the delay of game, kick a FG go up by 3, then clamp down
but "he and Mr Jones, Mr Jones, Mr Jones had a thing for offside going on!"
Denver got the 1st down and then a TD, but still allowed them too close/
well there is highlights for those who missed the end.

now the broncos can still finish last spot if they lose to the bolts next next Sunday.
silly NFLs!

The uniforms are the last thing that bugs me about the NFL in 2025, when more and more games are disappearing behind higher pay walls. I guess ESPN was first for Monday Night, but that was no big deal, most folks had that one. Then the NFL network was the Thursday night only option. That was an add-on. Then Amazon took Thursdays and getting Prime is an inducement to shop more on line (including I imagine consumers purchasing alternate uniform gear to wear out on the town). Now it's Netflix and Peacock, more useless programming about dragons, comic book superheroes, serial killer docu-dramas and assorted weirdos just to get the games. The NFL is like the pied piper that is leading us into buying this mess. Does anyone know if I can get the NFL ticket and just get the games regardless of these sub-streams and channels?

there are other avenues to watch games online since the pied piper will carry their tune.
my neighbors were not happy the games were not on cable or air tv since no local teams were playing.
my one neighbor was wondering what a Netflix was.
was that true one game was only available on phone and tablet?

someone at the FCC should or must stop the NFLs and their avenues from these blockages and pig headedness.

Nope. That only works if it is the normal Sunday games shown on Fox and CBS. Honestly all of these other channels and odd days for games actually takes away from NFL Sunday Ticket.

I just watch Red Zone on Sundays anyway.

Honestly, I don't understand the outrage either. The only people that should care are the people in Missouri and Kansas. Other than that it certainly doesn't matter to me where the Chiefs play.

It sets a precedent for everyone, and encourages team owners to ignore the support that fans, with their ticket and tax dollars have made to build those franchises. As private business owners, they can argue it is their prerogative, but not so much when they have received public tax support as well. Why do billionaire team owners need public support? They certainly know how to run businesses and have access to sources of capital financing. But it's easier just to prey upon and threaten politicians, who will easily roll over and give them what they want.

CFB is undergoing an extreme identity crisis now, with the mercenaries allowed to run amok. It damages that sport more because it relied more on affinity and personal relationships. Money and personal gain is unabashedly the goal now.

eeehh...

Teams moving is a sore spot for a lifelong RAIDERS fan such as myself.

In this case, KC, though it's literally just down the road a piece...

The Rams' 2022 SB win landed with a thud after they moved back from St. Louis to LA. People didn't forget, and I don't think the fanbase has recovered, at least among the long term Rams fans.

Some more information regarding the deal
If this tweet is correct, the state/city gets absolutely nothing after spending billions to lure and build a stadium

And THAT is the problem ... stadiums should be required to pay for themselves or if there is an incentive given a payback agreement should be in place.

As a taxpayer I have no interest in A SINGLE DIME of my money going to fund a billionaire's play palace where the tickets price out 75% of the population.

Kansas - which is the 9th WORST state in terms of quality of life, is now just handing over TAXPAYER money that could be used to make life better for ACTUAL CITIZENS .. for what?

And yet, city after city folds to the NFL when it comes to stadiums. I don't disagree, its just that NFL has more sway over how stadiums are built and in this case managed.

When a private investment yields many public benefits, I do not think it is out of bounds to request reasonable public accommodations -- or owners should be able to seek out communities that will pay their share (i.e., a true market). Economic benefits to a local community from an NFL stadium can be huge. Cities and states that seek to be free riders by requiring ownership to provide all those economic benefits without any accommodation is one of the reasons the ownership model in pro sports is shifting away from family entrepreneurs to huge private equity partnerships ... who are becoming further isolated from their respective communities than ever.

the other side of this coin, is cities get that money back
more if they win it all!

The New York Yankees win in the MLB’s World Series was worth $59.6 million
in direct spending to business in New York city.

one example that I knew back in 2009 as this link just states what I typed.
Madison WI business make a lot more $ on football Saturdays than away games in autumn.

no politician or city business gurus in their right mind would pull this deal with a return opportunity.

ahh they type anything on the these internets nowadays!

NFL owners have managed to create this system where the costs and the losses are the public's problem, while the profits are privatized. That revenue it supposedly create? It better be from officially NFL-approval, because if the owner's aren't getting their beaks wet, you'll get shut down. Sure there's some ancillary business from fans and tourists who visit and go out to eat or rent a hotel room, but the big bucks from broadcasting, licensed gear, that goes right in the owner's coffers.

wow

I did not expect that... And Willis(GB) had a great game throwing the ball as well as running it...

Looks like the bears have won their division, now that GB lost. Green bay is limping into the playoff, at this point I don't have much hope for them, even if Love returns next week

Sure ... but my position stands: exactly WHAT is reasonable?

Because "benefit" can be easily translated to a SINGLE THING - PROFIT. If a stadium cannot show a net profit for the city & state providing the $$$ for building it (including the hassles and crime and rampant sex trafficking offsetting the game day benefits), then it should be on the owners to make up that shortfall - or it shouldn't be built. And EVERY stadium should have a clause that essentially puts the billionaire properties up as collateral on the recouping of public funds.

OK - so let's look at the currently being built new Buffalo Bills stadium. The current taxpayer portion of the funding is $850 MILLION, and the estimated benefit to New York State is $19.7 million per year. Payoff? 42.5 years!

That means at least HALF of that $850 million is direct welfare to billionaires. Think of the REAL benefits even just that half could do for the actual people in the state?!?

See the problem?

For the AFC, there's only one play off spot undecided. If the steelers win today, that should do it for the AFC playoff picture.

Likewise for the NFC
Carolina needs to win out and maybe have the bucs lose today or next week. I'm unsure how the tie breakers will play itself out. The Panthers lost to the Bucs earlier this season and their last game is against the Buccaneers.

The panther's are facing off against Seattle, where as the Bucs are playing against Miami.
