I'd wait until they play an actual decent opponent before making that statement... but yeah they're going to be pretty good I bet.
I think they have, the coaching change that had occurred is paying dividends, whether they can make a run for the playoffs remains to be seen. Within their division, I'd say KC is the only other team that can expect to have a great record (even if they're at 0-2 right now).

As for the Raiders, this is their first year under Pete Carroll, so their trajectory is in the right direction, but I wouldn't expect miracles. I don't think Geno is their long term solution - he's just a stop gap for the next couple of years.

Agreed.

Yeah, I was making a backhanded jab the chefs...

I do believe the Chargers are on the rise...

Well Geno Smith certainly seems to be the answer ...

LOL, well at 34 years old, he's still what he's been for most of his career, which is a pretty good backup.....and that's enough to be an upgrade for the Raiders. Certainly the Raiders have an excellent chance to be a mediocre team this year....which will be a significant improvement

Raiders need to let the rookies get the balls and get the RB game in, really need to figure out that Center situation because dude was awful, going to be a long season for my team yet again

lol

Every team needs a backup QB to start and throw 3 INTs... He's never been a good starter.

I'd rather have AOC if we could block for him he'd be pretty solid. DC was good when he had protection.

We do stupid stuff in the draft when we should be drafting every available OL we can get our hands on.

I heard the Tom Brady is coming out of retirement to play football ... flag football. I expect another ring.

He's already in the Raiders' coaches' booth, with headset on.

Only two hops away from being on the field again. ;)

Speaking of backup-level QBs, has the Mac Jones Era begun in SF? Or just the first quiz in Kyle Shanahan's QB Reclamation School?

And Burrow goes down again.

The funny thing is, the NFL said he didn't break any rules, while technically true, I think they're missing the issue. As someone who's part of a broadcasting team, he goes to other teams/locker rooms, interviews people. He has access to information that other owners do not. When he started his broadcasting career and ownership the NFL restricted his access, but I believe they have since relaxed that.

Personally, I think its a poor look and I wonder if other teams will largely block his access given that he's so active in game day decisions

Purdy is out for how long?

wow! draft linemen?!?!? well yeah, that would help. And get some defensive linemen too.

I think the Chargers recent improvement has been the result of getting better linemen....plus acquiring some additional guys who can catch the ball.

Certainly Geno would be a better starter if he had better protection

...Jim Harbaugh. imho that is...

Supposedly, the NFL and other teams have all agreed to some boundaries, but it's still not a good look.

Like him or not, he's a good coach and knows how to get players to perform…for as long as they buy into his program.

49ers' Brock Purdy is recovering faster than the team initially thought

Looks like less then 3 weeks? Not sure, though the 49ers are dealing with a number of injuries

#1 receiver and TE also on IR.

I don't know what the stats say, but I'm getting the impression that the number of injuries, especially non-contact injuries, are rising.

The game has always taken a toll on bodies, but the raft of hurt players after 8-9 months "off," into camp and into the start and early of the season suggests that something is off with the state of affairs.

Understandably, players going full bore, in games that count, are going to get hurt, but what are they doing in the offseason programs and in training camp?

One could make an argument that tonight's game could be a trap game for Buffalo. I'm not the one making that argument. The question will be, if its a blow out, will McDaniels be on the return flight home with the team

I don't get what has happened to them at all...
Hill, it turns out, is a dumbass and no longer quite the rocket that he was. Tua's injury-history thins out the playbook, including most/all deep routes because he can't afford to hold onto the ball that long for fear of another concussion. Tua's always been a bit overrated, but at least he could run entire playbooks before he turned into a guy one head injury away from forced retirement.

Basically they lack a real leader that everyone believes in and will go to battle with/for.
