What kind of desk is that? It looks like that middle part under the monitor is well below the rest of the desk. Any other pictures would be great! From what I can tell I love the setup

What about a new ACD glossy with a new 17" MBP matte option? Would that be too much of a difference on your eyes if you're going to use the two monitors and run two things at once? Discuss.

Sorry if this has been discussed elsewhere.

Yes, the stand would work for your MacBook. As for turning it on and off, you can use the Apple menu/keyboard shortcut to turn the computer off. As for turning it on, yes you must pul the laptop out from under the stand.

I allow my computer to sleep and I restart when needed (i.e. updates). I do not see a reason to shutdown the laptop for normal use.

Can the heat from the laptop adversely affect the screen? It seems as if the fan runs a lot more when the lid is closed and I don't want to find out that the heat can hurt the screen once its too late lol.

If you look at the back of the 15" MBP The airvent is open completely when the lid is closed. But when the lid is open its open partially.

So I have a feeling Apple thought about this when they made it.

That's kinda what I figured... It's just weird how sometimes the fan seems to run more or at least be more noticeable when it is in clamshell. Just wanted to make sure before I ordered the Laptuk.

Thanks!

I like rkdiddy's a lot, looks so professional and uncluttered but the first several were also very very very nice desks.

They probably are runner faster. because they can't use the keyboard as a passive heatsink. And it may also be because now that the back is fully open when the lid is closed you can hear it more because the sound isn't being dampened by the bottom screen bezel.

I'm currently using a 30-inch dell with my macbook, and using Spaces when it's not connected.

One feature I'd like to see is for Spaces to detect when an external display is present and automatically disable Spaces or change the number of spaces.

It's a Mikael Desk from Ikea. The portion in the back (where my macbook and cars and speakers are sitting) is what is normally supposed to be on top of the desk. I didn't like the way it looked sitting on top, so I moved it to behind the desk, where the top serves as a stand for some of my stuff, keeping my actual desk completely clean (minus mouse/keyboard).
