I love this thread. This is got me thinking that its time for an HP monitor. I cant justify $900 for a monitor, and the HP monitors look close the ACD :)

oh no. all these setups make me want to get a 24 display now. :p
I know, me too.... I've got the perfect place for it on my desk! But I think I'm going to wait to see if the normal ACD doesn't get updated to a better thing (I'm hoping 30" LED!) first then I'll order it!

AWESOME setup, I love the simplicity of it.
By the way, where did you get the wallpaper on the ACD from? It looks awesome. Please share? ;)

I wanted one but couldn't sell my 30" ACD for what I was looking for so I didn't get one :(

What?? Who?? OK, just making sure you guys are paying attention :D

O we're paying perfect attention in this thread :)

I'm the cinema police and just making sure you realize that you have an iMac. Don't do this again, the second offense is much worse :)

Unfortunately, my digital camera was confiscated by the wife for what she calls a "family outing" and thus this pic was taken with an iPhone, the resulting quality being not so great.

2.53 unibody with a 24" Cinema Display

I'll post better pics when I get a chance.

my external superdrive didn't work with the display.

When most people say "my superdrive works through the LED hub" they're referring to the MBA and it's external superdrive accessory, which is notorious for not working through any sort of USB hub including the previous generation ACD's. What sort of "external superdrive" do you have, and considering you have a MB with a superdrive built in, why would you even need one?

it is nice to have 2 drives and i mean the apple mba external superdrive.

i'm sorry if i confused you. no 3rd party external drive

edit: maybe the apple external superdrive only works with the led cinema display, if you connect a mba to the display.

The distance between the two devices is not that far. I usually turn the MBP sideways, however (unlike the photo), so that the disc drive is facing me and the connections are closer to the rear (rather than on the far side) of the shelf, leaving plenty of slack in the cables. This is convenient for me since I can quickly and easily access the drive, as I do a lot of disc backups.

if only ACD has an HDMI connection i would get it. I currently have a ps3 connected to my monitor.

Received the display two days ago, extremely pleased with it...
