24 inch LED ACD users, have any of your color calibrated your monitors? Or are you entirely happy with it right out of the box?

I just got mine and the colors look pretty spot on to me. So i'm just wondering if any further calibration needs to be done

Simply lowering your brightness will fix it. Overall Im happy with it right out of the box.

I left the colors as is. I don't think I know enough about the calibration to fool with it. I usually run at about 5 ticks lower than full brightness (during the morning so that it doesn't burn my retinas) then a bit higher later in the day.

I wanted one but couldn't sell my 30" ACD for what I was looking for so I didn't get one :(

Why would you sell your 30 inch for a 24 inch thats not much of an improvement and has a higher dot pitch? Keep the the 30 inch. I don't own an LED cinema display but i do have a Powermac G5 hooked up to a 2408wfp.

Very nice pictures/setups. :)

Has anyone got more pictures, but of the 24" cinema display hooked up to the new Mac mini? The majority of the pics in this thread so far are of macbook>cinema display setups.

Congrats on having real nice setups guys,

I had a quick q - i plan on upgrading my mbp to the unibody mbp later on, and wanted the LED screen combo. I have the last revision mbp before unibody and was wondering if I got the 24 LED with the adapter if it would work fine? I hear mixed reviews, mostly saying it only works with unibody design..also, when you guys boot up in vista/xp is the picture quality /setup work fine? I want an excuse to purchase something now, and since i know i will ultimately end up with the LED i want to justify getting it now. any info would be appreciated, thanks

nothing special, I've changed it slightly instead of keeping the MB in the side cabinet I'm using a Book Arc and have it positioned just behind the screen, Will post an updated pic when I get home

a bit off topic, but whats the closest pc equivalent to apple's cinema display? if the new imac disappoints i might splurge on a monitor for my pc, as the current one is too small for me. LED would be nice, built-in webcam definitely.

I recently made the jump.

It's not the most recent version because the wired keyboard has been replaced with a wireless version but i'm too lazy to take another picture.

Sorry for the crappy pic, blame the 3GS cam for that

Question...

an injection of life into a old thread?...

sept09.jpg

Anybody know if the Apple remote works with the 24" Apple LED display (with MBP connected and running in 'clam shell' mode)?

I know this is a random question, but I'm thinking about switching my 20" iMac with a 13" uMBP and 24" Apple LED display for a more flexible desktop setup that I can take with me if I need to (thanks to the versatility of the MBP)...I just want to know if some of the peripherals will work with this setup- namely the remote that I use for watching movies. Thanks! :)

These look great! I'll have to post mine since I just received my 24 inch cinema display :)

Its an amazing monitor I freaking love it. I bought mine from the refurb store.
