The evidence for the larger screen keeps coming. It will be so interesting to see the reactions when it is finally unveiled.

I still disagree with your original post.

I recall lots and lots of people saying they want something in the 3.5" - 4" range but that they wouldn't want it larger than 4". I'd call that the "most common" response over the last year.

You have claimed that many people claimed that only 3.5" would make them happy. I disagree with that assertion. I'm sure a few people said it, but I wouldn't say many.

Thus, when people end up being happy with some new 4" iPhone that will be, to me, expected. You'll claim hypocrisy, I guess, but I maintain that it's your faulty memory that's the problem there.

It'll be both incredibly disappointing and hilarious if after all this speculation about a bigger screen, the next iPhone is still 3.5 inches and all this talk was for nothing

Were you not here for the iPhone 4S unveiling? We've already learned from the 4S that we ABSOLUTELY NEVER believe the rumors about a bigger screen ;)

let be honest, if the original iphone was 3.4" there would be 3.4" lovers, if the iphone was 4" they would say 4" is the best. Whatever apple puts out you know you will end up buying it and being happy.

The WSJ is an Apple mouthpiece that is paid to "leak" info about their products in order to increase anticipation for their products at a proper timing, such as around the reveal of the Galaxy S3, which is what happened.

You can pretty much be guaranteed that there will be a larger screen this year.

now this is 100% truth... no matter how much emotion is tied up in the size of screen, most of the fanatics here will end up with an iPhone 5 just as they did the 4s.

Driven by need no more than to have the latest and greatest.

...and theres nothing really wrong with that either.

Absolutely. Apple has a mind control effect on certain people. They seem to magically agree with anything Apple does and claim they came to the same conclusions Apple did. It's quite creepy to see, especially considering many of those people are grown adults.

Keep in mind this forum is not going to provide an accurate enough cross section of Apples consumer base. Someone with so much emotional support for their products as to come to a place like this, register, and engage in communications with others about the devices simply can not be used to make such a definite opinion as you have.

I'm not a 3.5 lover, but I'm not really digging the latest rumors. I'll still be getting one ASAP.

This is ridiculous. Who's going to boycott an iphone?
I made a poll about what the best screen size for the iPhone is and when the majority of people starting saying they want at least a 4 inch iPhone, I got responses like this guy's.

3.5". The way it is for me now is absolutely perfect! Not once have I ever wanted it to be bigger, I'm happy with this.

If the next iPhone does have a bigger screen and is quite a larger device I'll either continue using my 4S or move elsewhere.

I think it will be fun to make a thread showing all the people like this guy who said anything but 3.5 is a dealbreaker AND ended up buying the glorious 4 inch iPhone this Fall. It will be quite the psychological observation. :D

I've had 4-4.3" Androids and they fit my hand perfect. The 3.5" screen feels tiny. Although nowdays, 4" is small!
I know right? But look at the 17 downvotes I got just for posting this thread. A lot of people are upset that the screen size will be bigger than 3.5 inches this year.

It's pretty crazy that people are so against having their phone benefit from a larger screen that isn't even that large compared to what a lot of people are using these days.

Many of you have said that 3.5 was the ideal size and that you would never go any higher than that.

Are you going to stay true to your word and refuse to buy the 4 inch iPhone because it doesn't meet your requirements?

i am not a "3.5" lover" as you say. I think 4.0" is the perfect size. i'm a 4.5" and above HATER. I'm a "3.5" enjoyer". i would be a "4.3" puter-upper."

But for sure, if the only choice was between a 3.5" phone or all the ghastly 4.5"+ android coming out it wouldn't even be a question: 3.5" for sure!

but yeah, 4.0" is the perfect size for a PHONE.

I just think 3.5 inches is just ridiculously pathetically small for a phone these days, but the Apple reality distortion field has some people in its death grip. Luckily, the distortion field will shift to 4 inches this year so those poor people will finally get the paradigm shift they are unable to come to without Apple saying so.

Apple doesn't like your words... Apple commands you to want a 3.5 inch screen!

All hail the mighty apple.:apple:

Not everyone likes holding "pancakes" up to their faces when making calls (see: Samsung Note or GS3 or plenty of other android phones). Also, not everyone likes looking like a tool walking around with a bluetooth in their ear :D

But I guess the tens of millions that buy iphones won't convince you that's the truth. Yep, they are ALLLL brainwashed. BAHHHHH! We don't know how to spend our money! Please spend it for us Apple!

Yep, that's how all of us looking at our mobile buying options....:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

i wouldn't have to make that many roll eyes icons if they just had one GIGANTIC rolls eyes to get the message across :)

Did you miss what he said?

That leaves a lot of room for him to decide that 4" can work for him if they manage to not increase the size of the device.

I'll believe it when I see it and try it out. I'm fine with 3.5" but I'm not opposed to a bigger iPhone because I trust that Apple will design it with user experience in mind.

Just remember how many rumors there were and actual cases were produced for a redesigned, bigger iPhone last year and how it never came to fruition. Apple has obviously been considering bigger screens but who knows if/when they'll pull the trigger.

Listen, the Samsung Note is a strawman argument. It's a phone/tablet hybrid when it goes over 5 inches.

Also, I've used the 4.7 inch Galaxy Nexus and it's fine considering the shape and aspect ratio of the screen. The build quality sucks compared to an iPhone, but really, people who say the Galaxy Nexus is too big are either people who wear skinny jeans, hate Android, or have never TRIED to give it a chance.

I'm personally not a fan of Android because I see it as a flawed OS despite its MANY advantages over stock iOS and my jailbroken iPhone does everything I need, so I don't go with Android.

While 3.5" is my ideal size, I will no boycott a 4" screen iPhone. As long as the new iPhone doesn't resemble the Samsung Note, then I'm fine with it.

I'm fine with a Niger screen I just dont want a longer/taller phone!!!!! I DON'T WANT A FREAKIN DROID
Das rayciss.

See, that's what I'm trying to get across to the 3.5 lovers. A 4 inch screen won't make a significant phone size difference in their skinny jeans.

A 4-inch screen will leave me with 0.5 inches less space for my 12 inch monster from down under and it's already a tight fit even with baggy jeans
