I can't deny that you aren't much good at spelling... (it's denial) ;) loi

Anyway, just for the record, I would like to say that I love a bit of extra meat on my women (nice!), and hence, I don't mind a bit extra on my new 3G iPhone when it comes along either...

Theres always one! ;)

I never thought i'd use the words '*****' 'fugly' & Apple design in the same sentence but as someone said on ENgadget, if thats the 3G iPhone dimensions then it needs to get a WiiFit and tone back down to its 2.5G figure

You try putting on half a G and see how you look. ;)

Hoax or not..... I still think Apple Legal would be all over this. If it is a hoax, it is an elaborate one. The XSKN website seems like the real deal to me.

Has anyone ever heard of this company before today?

Maybe Apple Legal is not wasting their time on this..... since the new iPhone will be release TOMORROW. YEAH BABY!

i think this company took the "specs" everyone has hard about, made a case they do not know will work or not, and are selling early to make money. is that legal?

Imagine the company that introduced the world's thinnest laptop to follow it up with the world's thickest iPhone.

What a train wreck that would be. Apple's marketing is trying to equate thinness with technological innovation, and a thicker innovation would take that equation and work it against them.

Exactly my thoughts. Even the strapline for the new iMac is 'More power. Thinly disguised.'

Introducing the iPhone 3G
The world's thickest iPhone

...cant see it myself!

What an ugly case..

I've never understood why people use cases for iPods/iPhone. To prevent them from scrathing? So, it's better to make a good looking device ugly by using a case than letting it get some scratches? After all people are paying extra for Apple's design and looks... and then they buy a case to cover it up?

First time poster, long time reader.

I believe Apple's legal team has not gone after this because it is not the 3g iphone inside the case. If you notice it says Cingular as the carrier. Now think, how hard would it be to photoshop in a screen into a 3g iphone case and some black with a speaker hole. Not very hard.

I have seen these cases for sell for a long time. My friend has one on his phone. A big company won't make something off false or speculated specs. Too much time and money would be wasted on design of the product just to throw it away.

So with that being said I bet the case is the real deal for a 3g iphone case. However the iphone you see in the case is not the real deal.

I have a HTC TyTN 2 with 3g. The battery life sucks. So I can tell you if the iphone is bigger because of the gps chipset and the bigger battery it will be welcome. Nothing worse than having a phone that can't last all day on a 3g network.

Additional thickness doesn't bother me. However, the concave shape does bother me. In fact, it may be a non-starter.

well I don't agree. My dad uses one of these

From incase and they look very good. Just the one in the beginning of this thread looks awful!

I just want the new iPhone 3G to be released so that you all shut the hell up.™

Would you rather we talk about the rumored Powerbook G5? :D

I'm just wondering if there is punishment in the contract with Apple when leaks like this happen?

Apple will never compromise the design of the iphone no matter what features have been implemented so i doubt it will be thicker.

Looks AWESOME!! If this thing has 3G, GPS, video conferencing, and downloadable games and a Sling client at launch, I will be IMPRESSED!!!!

.
A big company won't make something off false or speculated specs.

The point is that these are not necessarily "false or speculated specs". If the rumors are true, accessory manufacturers were given exact specifications for upcoming hardware. This is how newly released devices have cases for them. Apple has done this for previous hardware, and the iPod nano cases were leaked similarly.

Appleinsider is calling this a "ploy" by a "little known" case provider...

still.... has me wondering... the fact the site is still up is making this seem less and less real.

AI is just speculating themselves. This is a "real" company in that there are customers who have bought cases from them before.

Because sometimes you might drop the phone, and so it's useful to have a case around it to protect it from damage.

Thank god for that, looks like I'll be able to have video calls (wifi or 3G) after all!

Good I could do with a little rounder back... makes more contact with the hand. The current model I find I only contact the edges when I hold it.

Also notice on this case the enlarged opening around the ear speaker... for sensors/camera?

Hmmm.
Not sure what to make of a convex backside. Kinda of Treo-ish (can't believe I am even saying that about an Apple product).

One one hand (pardon the pun), your point about fitting the hand better, IMO, is completely valid. The current model is not that ergonomically friendly (regarding to phone-to-head use) leading to hand cramps after even light use (there's a joke in there somewhere). For me, any significant talk time is spent with the BT ear piece or the headphones.

On the other hand, I'm pretty concerned that the curved backside will not allow for laying an iPhone 3G on a table top without wobbling (again, see Treo-ish comparison above). This is one of the aspects of the current design I really liked - the ability to lay the phone down FLAT on a table and watch a movie, txt, etc.

I guess we'll just have to wait & see, but this doesn't exactly excite me.

Now, the larger-than-normal ear opening does (maybe) suggest Apple did include a front-facing camera - which would excite me.

This means nothing. Sorry, I don't think is any point in trying to take anything away from stories like this...

Why not? Apple traditionally has seeded this kind of information with manufacturer's so that products are ready at launch. There's nothing worse that walking into an Apple store on launch day and finding out that you have to wait 3 months for cases and car chargers to come out. It happened with the Nano. Manufacturers were featuring cases before launch day.

Nnnnnnnnoooooooooo

I HOPE THAT THE PHONE IS NOT LARGER THAN THE ONE THAT IS OUT NOW!! I want all the extras in a smaller form factor apple is great at this this must be a tesaser:apple::apple:
