3G iPhone Case Revealed?

I actually know the owner of the XSKN company. His name is Lajo, and he made millions on iPod accessories back in the days of the 1st and 2nd generation iPods. Apple legal won't be able to lay a finger on him, as he's stationed entirely in the PRC (China).
Heh. At one point he would browse around the iLounge forums, looking for ideas and opinions on what people wanted from cases. He was banned from the forums though because of self promotion. This was all back in the day.

Three things.
a) this is a case. As somebody has already remarked, if anything this might as well mean that the iphone 3G will be slightly thinner.
b) the back isn't curved, according to these images. it just tapers off at the edges, but there's definitely a flat surface, smaller than the one on the current form factor.
c) a bit too early to call on its aesthetics, supposing these measurement are legit. The third generation nano seemed quite ugly and disproportional to some, but once it way in everybody's hands it was clear it was thinner and beautiful.

if the images are the same size and proportions, the screen actually is the same size, as i crudely measure with a ruler on my iMac's screen. I think its just an optical illusion, because of the wider frame around the screen.
Also, people who are all getting bent out of shape about the curved back- the curve (hopefully) is JUST this outer case. I'm hoping that the real iPhone inside will lay flat on a desk
Wow that case is hideous and if they use that iPhone design for 3G I think I may have to sticked with the first gen.

AT&T Mobility CEO: 3G iPhone Coming in 'Months' - an article that Ralph de la Vega, the AT&T mobility CEO, said that in the iphone, " you're going to see our integrated devices be 3G devices in the not-too-distant future, and I mean months. That should be clear enough."
Another rumor talks about the beginning of the shortage of the iPhone, so this is a possibility...even though personally, i think it looks a bit fat. =P

I thought the same exact thing.
Except I still use a 650, and the new iPhone will be replacing it... seems like my pockets aren't going to become as loose as I was hoping.

Personally, I think that that case is downright ugly, but if the "curves" in the 3G design accurately reflect the actual device, then I think that the phone's new design will be great, and definitely something that is noticeably different from the current design, but still great. The only thing that comes to my mind though, is: do people think that there will be a major redesign in the home-screen look then depicted in the image? I know that they just took the current home-screen, as only the physical dimensions have been released to case developers, but does anybody else foresee a somewhat major change in the home-screen design when they officially release the 2.0 software?
This is hardly fake, if you read a few days to a week back on the news page, you will see a story about how Apple released the dimensions of the phone to case developers so they could have cases ready for its release. I'll try to find the link for you. And from my understanding, the 3G chip is slightly larger than the EDGE chip, and the space inside the current phone is so "cramped", I don't think that there is really all that much to take out. And from a design standpoint, the new corner design does make it look somewhat sleeker, even if it isn't actually thinner.

iPhone Pro
This is not a very attractive case - not appropriate for the iPhone Pro. 3G iPhone will simply be known as iPhone, but really, this new beast is really the baby step before iPhone Pro (until Apple actually releases iPhone Pro).
I am waiting for this phone, have been since the first iPhone came out. Should be the killer of most other "smart" phones. We'll get there soon enough (for most).

Iphone pro? This is a cell phone we are talking about not a computer lol. I think it might be a bit much to assume there will be a pro. However I can see there being a iphone mini of some sort. This iphone size is still smaller than most hand held business mobile cell phone devices. You have to remember the market they are competing in.
The screen itself doesn't scratch easily but if you keep it in your pocket without a case every other part of its casing will become scratched over time. I didn't pay all that money for something to only have scratches develop around it. Then, you will end up buying a case just hide the scratches.
Horrible! I sure hope this is fake. The iphone form factor is almost perfect as it. The only tweak it could use is to be a bit thinner if possible. Thicker and wider would be an absolute disaster.
Worst of all though is the rounded back. How incredibly STUPID is that??!! I spend a huge amount of time using my iphone with it laying on flat surfaces like tables & desks. With a shape like this it would be almost impossible to use it that way. Dumb beyond all comprehension!
Hopefully this is just a fake dreamed up by some twit with no common sense. If this is really what Apple has in mind, they need to take their industrial design group out back and beat them severely until they come to their senses.
