For those apologizing for less DRAM read this thread. iPP 9.7 with 2GB crashes while iPP 12.9 with 4GB doesn't.

Then there's the 10 million people who bought the 9.7" iPP, who have never heard of MR, aren't experiencing any of the so-called 2GB RAM doom, and are happily using it every . single . day.

And I'm one of those 10 million happy purchasers.

Except the iPad Pro has no such issues so complaining about less RAM while ignoring all the other extras you get over the iPhone Plus for $150 less is complaining for the sake of complaining if you ask me.

Though it does concern me how future proofed the 9.7 IPP is, if a 5.5 iPhone gets 3GB ram

Just get one of the "other Android phones with better specs", if you think they are a better choice. It's a serious suggestion. I'm sticking with Apple and iPhone for the foreseeable future.

I guess that's why they said if Apple had good enough products they would make VR for them also.

It's just a shame such fragmentation has started to widen with the iPhones.
I personally am much of a fan of 4.7" than the 5.5" models, shame I'd be missing out on features even when money isn't an issue.
You won't be "missing" out on features.... buy the phone you want.... that's your choice. Want the "better" features? Buy the phone that has them.... easy peasy.

Then why do they talk about new processor and how fast it can do things during the speech?

They talk about the processor and speed in comparison to last generation, not in actual specs. They've never said "It has 1GB of RAM." Instead they say, "It's 2.4x faster than the previous model."

Big difference. Again, it's not about actual specs but rather performance. That's why they call it the "A8 processor" and not the "1.3GHz processor."

I'll say it again, the only difference between models should always be screen size (and the obvious battery differences). Throwing better stuff at the larger model is an insult.
How so? a4 audi is smaller and less expensive than the a8....has less features too. you want the a8 buy it.... if not don't complain that it has more and better features than the a4.

I really hope Apple doesn't make us get the bigger phone to get better performance. I want a 4" phone with every possible feature jammed inside.
And that's what you'll get.... every feature that can be jammed inside a 4" phone.

Of course you can just bypass all that and head straight for

"Audi’s luscious R8 ... beautiful to behold, easy to live with, and simply marvelous to drive — all the qualities you’d want in a sports car. ... The handsome interior features a 12.3-inch configurable display in lieu of traditional gauges; there is also 4G LTE connectivity and Wi-Fi hotspot capability."

It's being taken out. Moto Z was one of the first, then iPhone, and others likely will remove it as well.

Phone manufacturer's have been removing the headphone jack for years. My old HTC windows phone didn't have one and came with USB headphones. That's only one example.

These car analogies make no sense at all, we all know the iPhone is the Royce rolls of phones......

Car analogies just don't work.....

I would have loved to see 4gb in all versions of the phone. I guess more RAM can impact battery though so it would be a trade off most users wouldn't want.

You hit the nail on the head. Everyone wants more for less, there's no denying that. But what a lot of users really want in many cases, whether they know it or not, is future proofing.

iOS is pretty darn efficient. 2GB is fine for what most people will use iPads for, and if iPad 2's popularity is any indication, the iPad Pro should last a good 3-5 years for most people. Not bad for a $599 computer that's faster than my $749 iPhone 6S, $649 HTC One M9, MBP and PC for many common apps/tasks.

God people are never happy.
What are "God people" ?

Wait. They're not going to put 3GB of RAM in the SE? But that's what I was planning on getting when my contract is up in September. WTF Apple; don't you know you need to design your phones around my specific needs and no one elses?;)
This is neither funny nor clever

Unfortunately your lack of understanding of different sizes must have me confused.
I cannot buy the highest spec model, as it would be only for the bigger iPhone, as current Apple has gone the path of android phones with bigger = better.

I mean gone are the days when you just had to choose which storage you'd want, as every iPhone had the same specs otherwise.

And don't even begin with the bigger size has more room for upgrades, had that been the primary motive then it would have happened in Steve's Apple already, and with their huge "piggy bank" they could've actually invested in redesigning the iPhones tech so that one would never have the fragmentation.

So you have to spend more, and go up a screen size in order to get new features on the 7... okay. Why doesn't Apple just release an iPhone 7 Plus only and forget about the 4.7 model till next year.
more money...........................from you.

But yet their 'Pro' 9.7 iPad has 2 GB of ram. That's a joke.
"I got ipad pro 9.7 with 2 gb ram..and it's newwwwwww." - says the boy A.

Boy B flashes out 3gb iphone... "why is your ipad pro slower than mine? your's constantly reloads? BWHAHAHA."
[doublepost=1470276491][/doublepost]
my android phone from 2014 had 3GB RAM. in fact, that was one of the reasons I switched away, because I was so fed up with everything on my 5S reloading constantly due to the criminally low amount of RAM in a premium device. What was even more insulting was the 6 release and the tired refrain of "oh, you dont actually need more ram..." and I was just incredulous. Cook is a con man.

same story as always these days. Apple using the lessons they learned from trying to squeeze out performance in underpowered hardware in order to compete from years past of the PPC days, is now used to sell you a finely-tuned "experience" on underpowered hardware barely able to keep up past a basic workload to pad profit margins. Now they're making usability a "premium" feature. so glad i ditched the iphone ecosystem. still love my ipad though.
I guess when Samsung make ads about apple...I guess those are documentary movies.

Don't see much need currently for more RAM. 2GB of RAM in the 6S+ fixed the annoying RAM issue of the 6+ and I barely experience reloads now. The smoothness of the 6S+ is one of the big reasons why I'm likely not going to upgrade to the 7. This one seems to be good enough to go 2-3 years, Apple really did a good job with the specs on it.

The 6s+ really is a powerful phone. Mine never lags in multi-tasking. I can run multiple windows open, playing a video and other applications with zero issues. Plus it has awesome battery power.

Top of the iPhone page front and centre. They. Mention. Specs. When. It. Suits. Them. To. Do. So.

Why can’t people get this? They could have said gorgeous photos and hi res video, but no. They put the data right there prominently and in print. Open your eyes man.

People on here will defend Apple and say 2gb is fine lol

I love Apple and have owned every iPhone to date but enough is enough. I'm sick and tired of my pages and apps reloading. Even if they don't increase the RAM to more than 3gb I'll still upgrade because I despise android OS.

I have had all the non S versions of the iPhone, and I will wait to see the final specs and features,
but it feels like Samsung and even companies like Huawei are moving ahead of Apple.

Most people probably don't know RAM numbers.
